“Mercurium the Living Quicksilver is a Rank 10 Xyz Monster (Aqua/DARK/ATK 3000/DEF 3000) that attaches a monster from your Deck to itself as material when it’s Xyz Summoned. And while Mercurium has material, your opponent cannot activate any monster effects in their Graveyard, if you have a monster with that same Attribute in YOUR Graveyard. Mercurium needs to be kept fed with new materials to keep this effect going, but as long as you can keep him satisfied, you’ll be able to shut down your opponent’s key strategies!”
World Premiere Theme:
“It’s also that time again for a brand-new World Premiere theme! The scientists have been deep in the lab messing around with things that are probably better off left alone. What’s that? Scientists with dinosaurs? Okay, well, surely nothing can go wrong with their experiments…right…right?”

Okay Konami, but all I wanted was new ‘Chemisaurs’ and a Chemisaur Bonding Lab field spell to make that mythical Fire Dragon(hopefully a sea serpent like Water Dragon) and Ozone Dragon(Bonding O3, also a Sea Serpent but WIND) OR making “Tyranno” a true archetype.
Or at least new support for the Draconia lore. You can’t just drop a theme about a kingdom that decides to wage war on three different countries simultaneously and then just drop the story.

So… the new World Premiere Theme is basically Jurassic World trying to create the Indominus Rex and other Dinosaur Hybrids?

So a R10nk monster that could be at home in either a Magikey deck (if you include cards that can remove materials and maybe restock your deck to keep him going) or a Materiactor deck (if you include cards that can move materials from one Xyz monster to another)
i had the same thought concerning magikey, but unless you have a card to increase their levels the highest you can go is level/rank 8

Is Mercurium a TCG premiere or a card that was meant to also be in the OCG set?

So we had dinosaurs with a meteor themed boss monster,
Dinosaurs with reptiles and dragons that are probably computer simulacrums,
This will be something to see. Also Mercurium will be right at home in my budding Ryu-Ge Deck; it’s just a matter of getting things in the GV.
New dinosaur theme will release in OCG after Tyranno show up in the GX remaster next year. Probably get some synergy with support either new cards for Tyranno in a core set or anime cards in another GX pack like the one from this year’s around the same time. I’ve wanted “Tyranno” to be a legit archetype and get a cool fusion for a while. Maybe this is the opportunity.
I say that with a delusional hope that BPRO will have Venom support to tie in with Mitsurugi’s OCG release and it being year of the snake- which OCG has for some reason been ignoring all year.

I feel like y’all are missing the point. “attaches a monster from deck”. Does that imply ANY monster? If so then they just printed rank 10 lavalval chain. Slightly worse sicne it can’t attach spell traps, but still.

Oh neat ! A reference to alchemy where the “Mercury” is both an extremely powerful acid and the first matter of the Philosophers’ Stone and a reference to how chemical mercury “eats” and amalgamate with almost all metals, with the most famous metals being silver and gold, hence why Mercurium is a chimera, an amalgamation of different animals.

Helios wal already bad and non synergistic when it came out originally, and the alchemy cards were absolutely awfull in the anime
