CDP: Regenesis Nemleria, ft. DOOD Support

    QuincymccoyBy QuincymccoyAugust 30, 20255 Comments

Meet the Lord of naptime horrors.

    Replays:

    Strategic Summary:

Welcome back for another Creative Deck Profile, and today we’re merging two control-esque themes that have 2500 ATK/DEF into one strategy. To start off on the Regenesis side, this theme of Level 7 and Level 8 boss monsters may be easily Special Summoned from the hand – Regenesis Archfiend by revealing another monster with 2500 ATK/DEF and the rest like Regenesis Sage by controlling one – but their defining trait is that if sent to the GY during the opponents turn, each can return to hand during the End Phase. This gives you a lot of recurring resources, allowing you to throw wave after wave of beefy monsters at the opponent. With the reveal of the complete DOOD set, the theme also received a second big boss to supplement Regenesis Lord in Regenesis Demiurge (YGOrg Translation), a DARK Illusion that Special Summons itself from the GY by banishing 2 other monsters with 2500 ATK or DEF. This merges well with the Nemleria archetype, since their Level 10 Beasts all have 2500 ATK or DEF, so let’s meet them next!

As one of my favorite themes, the Nemleria have appeared on my channel a lot, so I’ll keep the recap short. The goal is to leverage Dreaming Nemleria and her support cards to banish your Extra Deck face-down, then summon Dreaming, banish the opponents’ cards, and refill your Extra Deck for further depletion. Nemleria Dream Devourer – Reveil is a great example of this, as it is a Level 10 Beast that Special Summons itself by banishing 3 cards from your Extra face-down. Since it has 2500 ATK/DEF, it often becomes the crux supporting transitions to Regenesis combos, especially since it is easily searched out by Dream Tower of Princess Nemleria. Finally, this deck also gives me a great excuse to use Gigantic Thundercross, allowing you to wipe the opponents board on a whim, without waiting for Dreaming to come alive. As the Regenesis Commands!

I see a lot in your request list. You know what I don’t see? Killer Tune.

I want to see your take on a Killer Tune deck, especially since there are a number of tuners that can be treated as non-tuners, opening up the extra deck for even more synchros

Hey there! I haven’t had a chance to experiment too much with the Phantom Revengers themes, cause I was leaning towards seeing what followup support comes out first. But ill keep it in mind to add to the queue!

        thank you.

on another note, what do you think of a combo involving Nightmare Magician and Fenghuang? You just have Nightmare Magican steal a monster, then tribute it to summon Fenghuang and wipe the opponent’s backrow, Fenghuang returns to the hand and you repeat either next turn, or the next time you need to clear their back row. even better, save the stolen monster so you can summon Fenghuang during your next Main Phase 1, then Nightmare Magician is free to steal a monster without worrying about traps or quick-play spells that following battle phase in order to set up for the next turn.

you would be stuck with only special summoned monsters or normal summon extenders if you wanted to get anything else onto the board, but if they don’t have hand traps, its going to be really frustrating for an opponent trying to set up the field.

I knew there was something to do with these 2. My list is far less optimal (also 1 Dream Tower is madness)

I wish the same could be said for Golgoil the Steel Seismic Smasher. As of right now I can only really see it being used in a banish-heavy Ryu-Ge Deck that can Pendulum Summon it, or maybe a Superheavy Samurai deck. Because it only goes for banished monsters, making it useless for facedown cards. It apparently could work with the Chimera Illusion stuff but given it relies on Sinful Spoils Subdual… well…
