When you wanted to activate Hand destruction and pendulum summon all your guys, but Green Baboon said no

      • Snow on July 9, 2025 1:45 am

A lot of people about to learn about the Green Baboon when these are released. Same thing happened when Fire King got its new support.

        Why what does it do

      • aaa1e2r3 on July 9, 2025 7:44 am

        @Aera

Green Baboon is a monster that can special summon itself from hand/grave upon a beast monster’s destruction.
The way that card was used introduce a new rule to the game where you cannot activate the effect of a monster in the hand that summons itself from the hand more than once in a single chain.
OP is just saying that people who pick this up are going to need to learn that ruling because you can’t chain multiple of the level 7 monster’s eff in a single chain. If you add more than one at once, they’ll miss timing except for the one you choose to summon.

      • Merlin on July 9, 2025 10:45 am

… You could just… Wait for your opponent to add more than one card from deck to hand.

      • John Stellarum on July 12, 2025 5:00 am

They really need to print a new, proper rulebook and put that rule in there once and for all.

      • Raz0208 on July 14, 2025 11:40 am

Green Babboon says “WHEN” for it’s effect. These all say “IF”, They shouldn’t miss their timing at all like Babboon would.

Are you saying Hecatoncheire was always the Waifu Deck (or at least, Hecatoncheire Jawza)?

      (Read the card’s Effects)

Either this Deck is the next Tier 1 or it will simply be powerful Deck thanks to Illusion Pile.

An illusion archtype that steals your opponent monsters? I think Nightmare Magician finally found its home.

      • Venom on July 9, 2025 12:18 am

It worth noting that Relinquished was an Illusion in the manga. Maybe that was meant to be one of the main gimmicks of the Illusion type.

      • Venom on July 9, 2025 12:19 am

The first two monsters have similar poses to Darklord cards.

      • NobodyBW on July 9, 2025 12:28 am

Yeah, plus the fact they’re illusion type kinda feels like they’re meant to be false gods. Very neat designs, and happy to see they arent the expected fairy or fiend.

      • he who dwells in the mist on July 9, 2025 12:30 am

actually they are greek. not antichrist. the hecatonchiere were known as the hundred handed ones in greek mythology, and also the second generation of children born from gaia

      • ScionStorm on July 9, 2025 3:32 am

All the LIGHT monsters are based on the star Betelgeuse and all the DARK monsters are based on the Greek mythical giants and your take away is that it somehow must be an antichrist deck???

      • Zenon on July 9, 2025 4:26 am

hecatomcherie is a monster from greek myth

      • aaa1e2r3 on July 9, 2025 7:39 am

Greek + Persian, with the other half of the names all being in Arabic.

Is this the real Kevin Tewart?

    10. HFIL on July 9, 2025 12:19 am

Oh wow, this is the first pure Illusion archetype. How momentous! Based off the Hecatoncheires (I know that may not have been obvious lol). Their whole gimmick being taking your opponent’s stuff. Also, they play into the charmies, because 3 of them summon themselves and take your opponent’s stuff. Got some interesting counter traps (wish they weren’t opt, but I get it). Love the artwork. Yeah, I like these. Fusions are a bit eh though. Not bad, just eh.

      • NobodyBW on July 9, 2025 12:25 am

Xeno is honestly pretty good. Bit pricey at 3, but you can potentially steal key cards before they’re summoned, (on either players turn), and has both battle and, effectively, effect destruction protection. Only issue is he’s vulnerable to other removal options, but hey, guess there has to be some weakness.

      • N on July 9, 2025 12:50 am

        Azamina is also pure

      • HFIL on July 9, 2025 12:55 am

@N Mandela effect in full effect. I swear I remember the fusions being different types. But it was that they require non-illusions in an illusion archetype for no reason beyond lore. Whoops

    11. FINALLY SOMETHING INTERESTING on July 9, 2025 12:22 am

Wait wait wait. Did they just announce an archetype that 1) References some cool lore 2) is decent gameplay wise 3) Has really good artwork and MOST IMPORTANT: 4) Does NOT belong to the boring overused lame trinity [Dragon Mecha Waifu weeb bait] ???!!! COUNT ME IN!!!

      • Venom on July 9, 2025 12:24 am

These are the probably the sickest designs from Yugioh I seen in a long time. They give me that Disturbing LoveCraft design feel. I love it.

      • Valiant on July 9, 2025 12:32 am

Somehow, it remind me with Maximus and Alba Los. Distant relatives of them, prolly??

      • gekko on July 9, 2025 10:20 am

fiend/zombie adjacent aesthetics are actually just as if not more common than machines in deck build packs. I really like the art here but it’s disingenuous to imply this is a break from an existing pattern.

      • summer on July 9, 2025 10:51 am

Jokes on you Ibel is mommy

    12. Cerayubel on July 9, 2025 12:30 am

      Communism the deck

    13. Agustín on July 9, 2025 12:33 am

Insanely broken and toxic cards. Goddus is a Staple, literally powercreeps Bystials. Expect to see Goddus as a 3 of in most decks.

      • kyrem on July 9, 2025 5:12 am

you’d be better off with just dd crow at that point lol stealing a combo piece isn’t impactful enough of an upside to deal with potentially missing out on getting rid of it fast enough, when your opponent holds off on searching stuff

      • Gekko on July 11, 2025 9:31 am

Goddus is too slow and conditional to directly invalidate bystials.
It has usecases but it is at best a sidegrade to bystials, its best usecases being something like discard engraver for tract and even then it’s got a lot narrower timings than a bystial. Might be a good side option against like, crystron.

    14. flackenstien on July 9, 2025 12:39 am

There’s something weirdly SCP about these.

    15. pranked on July 9, 2025 12:39 am

i find that the zombie vampire seems to have high potential in this deck especially with jawza because if you go jawza you can search the quick play then use it to go into another jawza without using the one you already have then search a counter trap because jawza isnt once per turn and maybe go into zombie vampire to go even further i think this could all be facilitated in some illusion pile deck to be a solid combo

      • Zed on July 9, 2025 1:33 am

It is once per turn tho.

      • gekko on July 9, 2025 10:55 am

zampire is an 8, the more accessible one for this deck is Sharivan outside of like, using Jowser.

      • Baroque on July 11, 2025 2:11 pm

Uh, Gekko, provided you’ve taken at least two guys — and in this Deck that’s not looking to be a tall order — that The Zombie Vampire is Rank 8 strikes me as rather much a moot point. I’ll agree that Sheridan strikes me as a bit nicer to run in most situations (or at least a lot less likely to blow up in one’s own face, given we’re comparing spot removal to mill 4), but I don’t think accessibility is going to be a problem given the deck seems to take to monster theft in various forms like Materiactor takes to Rank 3.

    18. Elchapita_33 on July 9, 2025 12:50 am

Ok this stuff seems neat as a low to the ground or sn engine (in the mirror match it goes WOOSH)

    19. R on July 9, 2025 12:54 am

These new Hecatoncheire card designs look similar to the Despia and Dogmatika cards. Especially Dogmatika Maximus’ ultimate ritual form, Dogmatika Alba Zoa.

    20. RyuuGaSaiko on July 9, 2025 12:54 am

I think Jawza and Xeno should have had each other’s atk, def and effects, since Jawza looks more like a boss monster.

    21. Fire King Enthusiast on July 9, 2025 1:15 am

Golden Nova will be pleased they’re finally doing the Illusion thing again. Still was funny is to see him seethe over that Mikanko Illusion monster.

Wonder what the last card is? Given its placement; it’s either another fusion, a normal spell, quickplay, or field spell.

      • Author on July 9, 2025 2:42 am

I wouldn’t mind a good field spell, since it’s gonna be played in Illusion pile, and they don’t have a good FS yet.

    24. Pineapple on July 9, 2025 1:46 am

I can see people putting mind drain in their side deck if this archetype becomes popular, since mind drain practically shuts down this whole deck

    28. Anon7524 on July 9, 2025 2:13 am

In a custom world, this would be last remaining card so I’m gonna base what I hope for around something similar just way less over the top.

      Field Spell
You can only use the (2)nd and (3)rd effect of this card’s name each once per turn.
      (1) Attack Gain effect
      (2) During your Main Phase: You can add 1 “Hecatoncheire” card from your Deck to your hand, except “X”, also after, you can make your opponent draw 1 card.
      (3) If a card(s) is added to your opponent’s hand while you control no monster or an Illusion Fusion Monster, except during the Draw Phase: You can opponent reveals all added cards until the end of this turn, then you can apply up to both of the following effects in sequence.
      ● Your opponent cannot activate, Summon, Set, or activate the effects of any card revealed in their hand.
      ● You can add to your hand or Set to your field, 1 of the revealed cards.

      • Interim on July 9, 2025 2:51 am

This is a very well thought out effect and would definitely make the archetype more relevant

      • Anon on July 9, 2025 9:21 am

Fixed the PSCT a bit to be closer to TCG, out of the custom card above, but still expecting something way lower in power level than the custom, just showing what they might need is all.

        Hecatoncheire Underworld (Field Spell)
“Hecatoncheire” monster you control gain 100 ATK/DEF for each card on the field owned by your opponent. You can only use each of the following effects of “Hecatoncheire Underworld” once per turn. During your Main Phase: You can add 1 “Hecatoncheire” card from your Deck to your hand, except “Hecatoncheire Underworld”, also after, you can make your opponent draw 1 card. If a card(s) is added to your opponent’s hand, while you control no monsters or an Illusion Fusion Monster, except during the Draw Phase: You can have your opponent reveal that card(s) until the end of this turn, then you can apply up to both of the following effects in sequence.
        ● For the rest of this turn, your opponent cannot activate, Summon, Set, or activate the effects of any card revealed in their hand.
        ● You can add to your hand or Set to your field, 1 of the cards revealed by this effect.

    29. Sventom on July 9, 2025 2:20 am

Just making some comments on your name notes.
      1) “Hecatoncheire Ibel” probably has nothing to do with Ibt al Jawza (although the trap card “Ibt al Hecatoncheire” clearly does, and a note should be put for that card) since there is no ト (t) in this name like there is for the later trap card. That being said, I do not know what the alternative source of the “ib(u)” name would be (only thing I remotely found was maybe it is a alternation of the Aramaic word ‘Ub “bosom; lap”, or perhaps Arabic ‘ib’ “burden”, but these aren’t the most commonly used of words, so I am in doubt).
      2) The first half of your note for “Hecatoncheire Yadel” is correct, but you wrote “Gabd” rather than “Hand” as the translation for “Yad”. Also, given that the name uses エル, not アル like the trap cards, it probably does not have anything to do with Yad al Jawza (although the trap card “Yad al Hecatoncheire” clearly does, and a note should be put for that card)
      3) I think Cottus should be mentioned as the first explanation for the name Goddos. I don’t think the Persian word has any relation, but even if it does, it should be mentioned secondarily to the Cottus note, not before.
      4) Your note about Jawza is mostly correct, but you have it backwards. It was associated with Gemini first, and then Orion.
      5) You should put a note about “Ibt al Hecatoncheire” and “Yad al Hecatoncheire” being based on Ibt al-Jawza (“armpit of Orion”) and Yad al-Jawza (“hand of Orion”) respectively, both of them referring to the star Betelgeuse. And to be clear, neither of these have El (エル) “God” in them like the first two cards do. These traps are based on the two alternative Arabic names of Betelgeuse, just with “Jawza” replaced with “Hecatoncheire”.

Adding another possibility for Point 1 that I found somewhat promising, at least given the lack of a clear etymology for イブ: Could be an alteration of Akkadian ebbu(m), meaning “trusted agent”

      • NeoArkadia on July 9, 2025 8:30 am

It’s almost definitely Ib(t) + El. Konami likes hacking off parts of names for name feel reasons.

      • Sventom on July 9, 2025 11:54 am

“Konami likes hacking off parts of names for name feel reasons.”

That is true, but I feel like this case is different because another card in the same archetype within the same set DOESN’T hack off the ト (t). If they both used イブ (or if the イブト・アル・ヘカトンケイル Ibt Al Hecatoncheires card wasn’t included here), I would have no issue agreeing that it was from イブト (Ibt), just with the ト (t) removed. But if they went out of their way to include the ト for one of the cards, it would be odd for them to omit it for the other card if both cards were truly intended to be from the same source. If there are other attested examples of two cards in the same archetype (moreover, in the same set in the case) clearly being based on the same word, but one of them is a shortening or alteration of the other in the Japanese spelling, then my point loses its force, but I can’t recall an example of that right now.

But like I said, even if my argument here is treated as correct, it still isn’t transparent what the “actual” source would be then, so in lieu of anything clearly “better”, I am not totally opposed to you mentioning that it could be from Ibt. I’m just explaining why I personally feel like it isn’t Ibt, even though I can’t provide with certainty what the more “correct” alternative would be.

These cards are absolutely HILARIOUS, but I’m not sure they’re actually good. Too much RNG, imo. Also imagine this against Sky Striker or Runick.

Just a note that the Heichatoncheire were not sealed in Tartarus. They were chosen by Zeus to guard its gates.

      • David on July 9, 2025 9:15 am

They were sealed there by Kronos but they were released by Zeus and made its guardians

      I FVCKING LOVE IT!!!!!!

    41. zlando on July 9, 2025 4:59 am

Feel good to have a non mechanical/space dragon/waifu archetype. And the first pure Illusion too.

    42. yod on July 9, 2025 5:14 am

Im reaaaaly suprised they have no “after battle, take controll of the battled monster” effect, since it would fit this deck perfectly, lorewise and mechanic wise

Since illusion monsters make everything survive battles they are perfect candidates for this, and im pretty sure they have something to do with corruption, so taking ofter enemys after a battle fits

      • Baroque on July 11, 2025 2:15 pm

They likely don’t have that here because, frankly, Illusion already has one of those (Nightmare Magician); no sense in doubling up when they can instead diversify the portfolio, given it’s entirely possible for them to just . . . also run Nightmare Magician (perfectly good mat for Jawza in a pinch, after all).

    43. Narf on July 9, 2025 5:54 am

My guess for the last card is a field spell or continue spell that’s pretty much what you’d expect, a searcher on activation, and maybe it could make both players shuffle 1 card from their hand into the deck, then draw 1 card. And maybe it could give the illusion part of the deck some value, like making it so that you take control of any monster that battled one of your monsters and treats them as Hecatonchaires. Could be busted as hell, but at least make the battle itself worthwhile.

Goddus is a generic handtrap btw.

    46. Author on July 9, 2025 8:23 am

Hoping for a Continuous Spell that reads “During your Main Phase: You can add 2 “Hecatonocheire” monsters from your Deck to your hand, then, your opponent draws 1 card” or smth like that.

    47. Leofwin on July 9, 2025 8:30 am

Several Spirit Sculptor targets! And you can search Nightmare Apprentice with him, who can in turn search all of them, so I’d say he’s an auto include in the deck since they don’t have any normal summons so far.

    48. The President of the United States on July 9, 2025 8:30 am

First monster is Armpit God, huh?

    49. Fumetsusozo on July 9, 2025 9:00 am

Pretty cool designs, I especially like how the wings are just a ton of hands. This reminds me on one of my own characters that is a dream deity made up almost entirely of hands to form their body shape. Anyways, this card set efforts seem pretty powerful, wouldn’t be surprise if they reach at least tier 2 someday.

    50. OE on July 9, 2025 9:57 am

      “NTR your opponent with Hecatoncheire!”

    51. gekko on July 9, 2025 10:01 am

cant wait for the level 10 that lets you steal your opponent’s catalytic converter from their car (but banish it when it leaves the field)

    52. Ehs on July 9, 2025 10:26 am

We steal their monster first, then their lunch money, their job, their wife…

    53. gekko on July 9, 2025 10:28 am

hecatonchires in myth had a hundred hands and fifty heads and by extension a hundred eyes. find it funny that the lights here get the lions share of the hands and the darks the lions share of the eyes.

    54. thebaseddd2 on July 9, 2025 10:39 am

Too bad stealing your opponent’s stuff in ygo is not as fun as it should be. Even if you stole your opponent’s flashiest card it would still be less destructive than…another piece of your own combo filler.

    55. YungEdubSavage on July 9, 2025 11:10 am

    59. Jax on July 10, 2025 4:54 pm

I wonder why the dark ones are all made of goo. I’m obsessed with the creepy hand angels, I understand the Greek reference, but I’m not sure I’m understanding the dichotomy between that and… bones, eyes, and goo? What do the dark ones have to do with the Hekatonkheires? I would be much happier playing the deck if I could puzzle out the lore better.

    60. Baroque on July 11, 2025 2:22 pm

The position of the hole this reveal is driving me batty, especially after Xeno gave us the shock that the monster they revealed in the artwork tease ended up NOT being the biggest, baddest monster of the deck like the art reveals usually are (compare Crossover Breakers showing us Deadnader, HEARTS OF CRYPTER, and Mitsuba/Mistva/the Ryu-Ge Ritual) and thus showed us that bigger isn’t off the table here.

It’s equally possible, given the hole’s between Xeno and Tartarus, that either we’ll get an even bigger Fusion or other Extra Deck monster, or we’ll get another Spell for the Deck . . . personally, I’d be fine with either, but if we DO get a Spell I hope it’s a Continuous Spell that we can use to spend taken monsters for some benefit.
