Will we finally get a Red Eyes Ultimate Dragon or will Toons be introduced in Rush and get there first Fusion?
Or could we finally get Ojamas 🤔.
30 new cards is nice.
But Dark Paladin is…. troubling.
Not for the materials, because it’s a negate.
Are we entering an era of Rush from whence there is no return?
Or will they cut that negate so it’s just big punch?
Negates literally don’t function by the rules of Rush due to it not having chains. So yes it will be different.
Darkness Galactica Oblivion and Raging Rock are the closest to a Negate Effect in Rush Duels.
Dark Paladin’s Main Problem is that one of its Effects is a Quick Effect: which doesn’t exist in Rush Duels (or those Effects are modified)
I wouldn’t be surprised if Dark Paladin gets Medustar’s Generic Effect: 1 face-down Spell/Trap Card on your opponent’s field cannot be activated until the end of their next turn (basically, a Negate but without destroying it)
They might adapt Dark Paladin’s negate by making the effect similar to Ultimate Flag Beast Boltricorn/Metarion Medustar and allowing it to effect multiple backrow slots. That would be powerful enough that it should only allow activation on the turn it’s fusion summoned.
HOLY OTES! 155 Cards!
Definitely one of the largest Rush Duel’s Packs to date.
It even looks like it will come with a special Over Rush Rare version and several Alternate Arts.
Seeing as it will have reprints of not only Anime Decks, but also OCG/TCG imports and original Decks: I wouldn’t be surprised if Sevens Road, Red-Eyes and Excutie get something here.
Red Eyes Ultimate Dragon: Finally
Wait Dark Paladin? But that monster has 2 different effect classes! What will they do?
Actually scratch that, it will also be the first Rush Duel Monster with a QUICK EFFECT!!!
It will most likely have the negation effect altered somehow.
What I’m interested in is what sort of monsters they’ll make with effects that treat them as Dark Magician and Buster Blader as both the originals are Legend monsters, so you can’t even use both in the same Deck to make Paladin.
All we have so far is Black Executor for Dark Magician and Legendary Swordsman – Buster Blader for Buster Blader (which is Graveyard-only for the name change).
Maybe even an alternate Fusion card tailored for monsters like Paladin.
So we are only getting 30 new cards and this is mostly a high value reprint set? I suppose it’s fair due to how many new products we are getting at once but I definitely hoped for more.
People keep thinking about the negation effect when it’s obvious what they’re gonna do with this: It just has the ATK boost effect.
[CONTINUOUS EFFECT] This card gains ATK equal to [the total number of face-up Dragon Type monsters on the field and in both player’s Graveyards] x 500.
They could turn the Negation Effect into a protection effect that’s a part of the Continuous Effect.
Yup, I always imagined RUSH Dark Paladin as “cannot be destroyed by spell effects.” I’m more intrigued by the workarounds for having 2 legends as material.
