Is it really an artwork though when it is depicting a different monster? It is Sub Zero Trish, not normal Trish if I am not mistaken

Exactly, they might as well have just given it an ‘alternate’ effect and called it a new card lol.
Tharm on
Yes, it is really an alternative artwork, the card is still the same card.

with how the power level in the lore is different in the actual game, I think the alt art is just for lore, and maybe just depicts that he’s still using Trish but awakens the Sub Zero side during that form so he’s still nekroz of trishula

I agree 100%

Don’t search the Invoked Mechaba artwork. If you react so sensitively to this, you will be unwell when you see it. lmao

Sub Zero Trishula is still Trishula and the Nekroz merely specifies a Trishula.
Shurit could wear the retrain and he would still be Nekroz of Trishula.

I don’t get it. What’s the issue with this artwork again? Or are you guys just being super nerds like usual 🙄? Some of you guys give Yugioh players a bad rep, as if we needed more of one…
GUU on
No if you used your brain, you’ll release most of the complains are from players wanting this to be a new card for the deck than an alt art. Use your brain sometimes.

Based on guu’s response, yes, they’re just being baby nerds again.

@Hughescifer lmao, I see. He did nothing to dispel anything I said. I rest my case.

yeah this is the first ive ever heard of such an issue…
>”Instead of an alternate art, this should have been a new card for the deck”
like, what? Never in any collectible card game have I ever seen such a dumb complaint.

I guess the main issue is that this artwork seems to depict Nekroz of Trishula tapping into the true power of Trishula (as the “Sub Zero Dragon of the Ice Barrier”) as seen with the red lines. It seems like its justifiable enough for it to either be a new monster (“Nekroz of Sub-Zero Trishula”) or a spell/trap depicting Nekroz of Trishula using this new power… rather than just an alt art.
I don’t recall other card games where we have arts depicting “power up or alternative forms of an existing monster”… and its just regulated to alternative versions of the original card art rather than being used in an entirely new card, beyond Vanguard which did it once (to my knowledge) as a non canonical joke (with Zeroth Dragon of Distant Sea Megiddo having a mermaid form in a Bermuda Triangle deck).

Also it doesn’t even fit with the established timeline of the “Duel Terminal 2” story so it comes off as a “big lipped alligator moment” that makes you wonder why they even bothered making it beyond rule of cool. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was revealed this art was supposed to go to a new card but it was scrapped and it was salvaged as an alt art instead.

Konami skipped Gem-Knight and went straight for the Nekroz art. Maybe next week?

I don’t understand the disappointed comments here. No Terminal World deck has gotten more than 4 cards, and they all get one alt art each. We all should have known what this was going to be.

No one is surprised, people are ridiculing the choice to do this.

Why is Shurit, generic shonen protagonist of the Nekroz wearing the corpse of an evil dragon as armor? I don’t know and I don’t care to find out.

Konami just woke up and chose betrayal. Feel backstabbed fr ( I play a trishula deck with all forms). The new mirror spell is good tho.
