The final card in the set.
While this monster is nothing special, they changed her effect in Rush to be continuous and during the Battle Phase.
Grand Mole has a similar effect that also activates during the Damage Step so it is quite possible for it to be adapted into Rush after all by having it during the Battle Phase.
I don’t think Grand Mole could really work the same way, since it’s an optional triggered effect that actually “does something” and not just a compulsory continuous effect that just changes its ATK.
We have seen a few instances where they straight up change the effect entirely. Look at Harpie Lady 2 and 3. 2 got a completely new effect while 3 was adjusted to be an Ignition effect instead.
@Pot the Trick
We’ve had a similar case in Flame Wingman’s burn effect though, right?
It is classified as a Continuous Effect, however it meets its
activation condition during a substep of the Damage Step, after it destroys a monster by battle. Effectively acting like a Trigger effect.
So, Grand Mole could be similar. Which is also why I believe Flip effects aren’t out of the picture as well.
The OG Blue Eyes Killer
Man-Eater Bug says hi.
That’s a surprising one, I’m curious if her anti-DARK Sun-themed husbando will also appear in RD.
The only reason I can think he wouldn’t is because he’s just too bad. Only a 500 boost rather than her 1000.
He should at least be considered as a legacy import in a future set but at a much lower rarity (Rare not Super).
Is it just me or is this the first Monster in Rush Duels that can be said to gain an additional Effect only in the Battle Phase?
Sure, it’s a Continuous Effect, but this opens the door for new ways to design cards in Rush Duels (Konami seems to be doing this quite a bit lately with Maximum)
Actually better than the original card.
