I get this card is somewhat iconic and all, but this is awful.

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t it possible to use the first effect to place a second “Break the Seal” and then activate the second effect using the just placed second “Break the Seal”?

Yeah, without the Hard OPT this card would be okay. The trap fetching and the Forbidden One search really should have been separate effects. In it’s current state this card isn’t even playable in casual play.
I don’t know why so many people are telling you that you can’t, maybe they’re misreading the card or your question, but you totally can.
Both effects are separate hard once-per-turns. You can activate the first one to activate the second copy from deck then activate the Forbidden One search effect in the same turn.

yeah i can easily see a 6th or 7th forbidden one come out to support the fusion
maybe they will unlimit all forbidden one monsters in the future, so you can have 3 left legs, etc.
There’s a “Forbidden One” spell that Adrian plays in the anime, so futureproofing for stuff like that.
^ But this demands monsters so you can’t use spells. Ngl, I got a kick out of that dark zone in that one gba game where the f/l list didn’t apply and I had a use for that pot of greed support monster.
I want to imagine some convoluted scenario someday where you have 5 limbs but a resolving effect is forcing you to discard but something causes break to blow up but it doesn’t start a separate chain idk OR a new rule where you can ignore your own victory condition just to flex

if you have a card on the filed that negates monster effects in the hand, you can stop the auto win of exodia, thus its possible to have all 5 cards in your hand and not win.
plus it says 5 forbidden one monster, but not with different names, so if all the forbidden one card were unlimited, think of it that way.
so the up to 5 works better for traditional format
Please ignore what damntohell0 is saying. Exodia is a victory condition, not an effect in any way shape or form. It cannot be stopped with what he is saying.

Yubel’s Sacred Beast Exodia deck consists of cards that allows the player to place the same copies to the field. It’s her Sacred Beast turbo style.
Besides this card, IIRIC, there are still another continous trap, and a continous spell.
While this card is kind of crap in it’s intended use, there are some interesting things about it like mentioned by other person Uria shenanigans or using things like Double Cyclone to pop it – even revealing one piece of Exodia gives us single non-targeting, non-destructive removal.
DM theme demands only DM card for crossover support so we wont get GX related exod-aaannndddd I spoke too soon. I remember how back in the day people were grossed out at this card’s premise but now that ftks are more common than drinking water it elicits no emotion, no stimulation for the ma.sses milling about.

I am sure this combos with other stuff neatly.

Was hoping for Ritual of the Ultimate Forbidden Lord with it’s anime effect except replace “Exodius” with ‘Monster that lists “Forbidden One” monsters in its card text’
