The August 2024 Special Super-Sized Issue of V Jump (on sale in June) includes the promo card:
精霊［マギストス］コロゾ
Magistus Chorozo
Most likely its name is a manipulation of Choronzon, a demon from the research of Edward Kelley and John Dee’s Enochian magic system, that was later incorporated into the Thelema religious system as the “Dweller of the Abyss”, serving as the last great obstacle between the Adept and their enlightenment, but he can be harnessed to achieve Ego Death, to attain greater enlightenment.
But anyways it’s a new Magistus Fusion monster based on the Spirit Chrozo from the Official Card Game Stories manga.

About time they got another fusion monster and it being a level 4 already means…it’ll be pretty hard to mess this up, but we will have to wait on the effect and summoning requirement.
(also, I swear I’ve seen this exact same creature in like 40 different anime)
Tbf most of sky striker anime promos are flops for the deck’s standard build. Now whether konami repeats the same trend with magistus or not is up for debate
V-JUMP promos are notoriously awful so I wouldn’t hold your breath.
They don’t make V-Jump promos good on purpose now because it leads to a lot of scalping. The last good one was yearssss ago.
What matters is whether it’s good and workable for its Deck, not whether it’s meta. So them avoiding making meta promos for the main V-Jump magazine these days doesn’t matter. As long it’s good and workable for and within Magistus, it’ll be fine.
The thing with Sky Strikers was that they already were extremely powerful deck that had every piece needed for being a playable deck. There was nothing to add there.
Magistus on the other hand is… one more engine for generic Spellcaster pile? It’s not bad but it barely counts as a deck and mostly sees play in casual environment and small locals.

Still hoping Magistus reprint cards in Selection pack or Terminal World.
Terminal World 1 only had reprints of the four DW archetypes. Magistus is not a DT archetype, so it won’t get anything.
Magistus reprints will likely come through the next few years’s Premium Packs. New cards for them will be in their Stories manga volumes, the Premium Packs, and V-JUMP.

wonder if they’re gunna go the route of making this for the magistus archetype or all the archetypes related to magistus. Most of them do fusion so it’d be nice. or it’s just a broken instant fusion target.

Figures, Alastor’s ittle buddy would be a fusion. All it’s done in the manga so far is intercept an attack, absorb an energy blasts causing it to transform.

Magistus just started. Sky Striker got like 18 months. At least this story is set in a more interesting world than Sky Striker. Magistus being a prequel to all the other archetypes they’re connected to.
Magistus is technically a sequel for Witchcrafter, but everything else holds.

i hope he has some special summon effect that lets send a magistus card from the spell/trap zone to the grave to special summon (what i wished crowley did). he probably wont be a spellcaster so no rilliona xyz plays and seeing that on the manga until now he acts like an guardian angel he probably will give more protection to zoroa calimity. It would be cool if he was a tuner and equipped himself from the gy but that sounds like too much. I hope they had the blue haired guy was another main deck monster and it would be cool to have a field spell of their little village, maybe on the story it becomes a big city later since we dont know where the tower of prophecy and the city of endymion are locate so it would be cool seeing more of their world.

Absolutely! Just like Sky Striker. The design of the new characters for the Vjump promo doesn’t fit the rivalry between Raye and Roze. They just ruin it with random chara to the thing that was already perfect from the beginning. I wouldn’t be surprised now if there were Lovecraft references in this Magistus lore. Vjump manga sucks.
