Holy… it really is exodia support 😂😂
Very broken, exodia FTK is defo gonna come back, then Konami are gonna end up banning a ton of cards
Horus could make great use of this.
Grandpa/ Exodia support. Can’t say I expected that: neat!
more like not neat at all if it’s just boring dm era trash pandering
The Zexal “Everything is DM Pandering” copers will hate this support but it’s a really interesting take on the archetype
“Waahhh boring dm garbage” don’t buy it and keep playing the same zexal decks then goofy shhh
Boring DM garbage that can win games.
The Exodia limbs were reprinted in several OCG sets last year – Animation Chronicle, Duelist Pack, Terminal World, and World Premiere Pack. It culminated with the head being reprinted in the Quarter Century Premium Pack today, which is a remake of the original Premium Pack back in 1999 (which also has the head).
Plus the Tokyo Dome attendance pack has DM and Blue Eyes in QC rarity, and we just got the Blue-Eyes version of MBU and a new DM retrain revealed today as well.
Honestly hindsight was 20-20.
Imagine think this would ruined the game.. not the amount of cards that are made now that allow you to summon entire fields of monsters and search your deck for everything 🤣 yugioh back in the day was way better.
Wow. Exodia support where the basis of the strategy is Millennium Cross, a card that cannot be searched and has to be in hand to do anything.. oof.
Edit, it says Or. it’s an interesting archetype to say the least.
You literally can search it with the millennium shield retain?? What are you talking about
Are you sure it isn’t “OR” reveal cross, not “AND”? Because shield searches cross, what’s the point of doing that if you already have cross?
I hope you’re right, I saw other translations saying “or”.
Because all the other monsters still require revealing cross from your hand. So being able to search a second copy allows you to activate one copy to get the fusion, then use the other copy to special the rest of your monsters and activate their effs.
Bozo, you cannot actually use the second copy of the Millennium Cross because of the restriction; you will no longer be able to summon monsters for the rest of the turn. Good thing now. Ygorg has edited the articles.
I hope we get the retrain of 5 pieces
Simon’s (why was he blue anyway?) dialogue bgm in eternal duelist soul was so good.
Can it negate monster effects?
Wtf is this trash
This is Yu-Gi-Oh!
This isn’t trash.
“Why new cards not meta!? Me cant play game if cards not op >:( “
They aren’t showing your deck
Kind of funny that Magicalized Fusin can larp as Contract with Exodia. There is incentive to have multiple Sennen Crosses in hand though flavor wise it makes no sense to have multiple of the same Sennen item.
Just say Millennium, weeb.
Maybe I’m missing something but how are you supposed to search Millenium Cross without having one copy of Millenium Cross already in your Hand?
Millennium Shield can summon itself by paying 2000 lp and then searches it. all the effects are “or” meaning you can reveal or pay life (think of kuaki meiru needing to reveal the specified card type or discarding iron core)
That’s for the 2 card future support in the next core set. They never make the first wave super solid, there must be a flaw. Typical komoney.
Can you not read? It’s Pay 2k LP OR Reveal Cross to do all their effects, including the one that searches Cross. So you can just pay lifepoints.
There was an error in the article previously that has since been updated. The user’s confusion was understandable.
Kek the entitlement that anything and everything should be accessible at any time in a normal deck is maddening, nevermind an otk deck. Ritual Sengenjin when?
I see a new line, “and/or banishment” (?) Hm..has it become a thing now? Does it mean we no longer need the old line “one of your banished” anymore?
I can’t believe a random email I typed belongs to someone and has an image on it.
Cards from Phantom Nightmare used it and so are we.
I was excited at first but like all of this stuff heavily conflicts with itself. The fusion monster doesn’t do much and I didn’t realize how bad it was its once per turn on the attack increase and effect negate. Then you pay life points when thats the way its attack increases then if you don’t have cross in your hand you have to pay 2k. Also the fusion spell does zero to help Exodia all you do is reveal the monsters. The effect should say be like at the start of your draw phase excavate the top 5 cards of your deck choose a card there add it to your hand your draw is skipped.
A monster that negates, and cant be destroyed, is bad, because its a once per turn? Are you on dog food or something?
The support is focused on the lv 10 completed exodias, the ftk needs less support if possible.
Super interesting, makes me wonder if we’ll get more “Forbidden One” cards in the future to ease the deck up a bit instead of relying on 5 1-ofs.
Should be a real fun deck to use for sure.
For the record – the Quick-Play equips *all five* pieces of Exodia, not two. Yes that’s 10k ATK.
Aaand how? It literally says 2, not OR.
I’m not a huge fan of the fact that the central card becomes unusable if you have a single piece in the graveyard, which clashes with Obliterate and Incarnate.
Didn’t mean to post that inline, stupid UI
It says (?). Thats on neoarkadia
Might wanna fix the Millennium Shield’s translation. It’s a Warrior type, not a Rock type
These seem like they wanted to do something reminiscent of how Gate Guardian was just handled but have the same issue as Koa’ki Meiru’s.
Millenium cross can be used more than once time per turn, it mean u can summon 3 exodia fusion and all their effect its once per exodia, so u can have a board with 3 s/t negate, one obliterate and the two exodo s/t
Pretty solid, even with only 2 exodia fusion
Didnt see the summon restrict condition of cross, too bad…
Unbelievable, I never though they’d dare make more Exodia support. My bets were on Yuma/Astral, the Infinite part had me fooled.
Hmm, could we finally see Break the Seal getting printed in Animation Chronicle?
https://yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/Break_the_Seal
Why yes I WILL put Millennium Scorpion in my st zone/slab and let it sit there. At least it look like the tcg won’t have to rename the “Mireniamu” monsters. I a.s.sume the ocg text mentions both that and sennen…
I like that Fiend Reflection #1 and Maiden of the Moonlight are both Illusion since they were Dreams in the older video games.
i don’t get why sengenjin got a special treat there in the text, but I guess we won’t care.
Its Japanese name has Millennium in it lol
Hack its vanilla text even mention “Millenium Items”
Bro why isn’t it an Illusion …
Nearly every Exodia is a DARK Spellcaster. Exxod, Master of the Guard is the lone exception due to its Structure Deck archetype being EARTH Rock monsters.
Illusion makes little sense on it.
These cards support “千年” but not “ミレニアム” in the Japanese text, I wonder how they’re going to get around Millennium-Eyes cards in the TCG.
Nevermind, I misread the card text.
“You can pay half your LP; you cannot activate other cards or their effects for the rest of this turn…”
Oh no, they did it again. Please for the love of Exodia, stop printing this effect on cards which can activate during the opponent’s turn Konami.
So… Break the Seal and Ritual of the Forbidden Lord are definitely getting printed this year. Animation Chronicle? I expect Ritual of the Forbidden Lord to SS any monster ‘that mentions “Forbidden One” monsters it its text’ ignoring summoning conditions.
Errata Necross text from mentioning each Forbidden One card by name to ‘”Forbidden On” monsters with different names’.
Don’t know if they’d print Defense Seal Wall as well.
Getting two DM headliner core sets in a row. But hopefully that means no more DM headlining for the rest of Core Series 12 and each of the other anime series will get two sets to headline.
These effects aren’t the same as what Konami has said
What konami said then ?
I wonder why they picked the monsters they did to support Exodia.
Reflection and Lunar are such random choices. I don’t get those. The others were “Millennium” monsters though.
These new cards are based on the following archetypes/cards:
– Exodia (The Legendary Exodia Incarnate)
– Sennen, engl. Thousand Years = Millennium (Sengenjin, Millennium Golem, Millennium Shield)
– Mireniam, engl. Millennium (Maiden of the Moonlight, Fiend Reflection #1)
“Sengenjin” is a portmanteau of its japanese name “Sennen Genjin” which translates to “Millennium Primitive Man).
The “Mireniam” monsters were picked like this because the original versions were possible candidates for Illusion retrains and were used by Shimon Muran.
– Every Illusion monster incorporates the “Millennium Symbol” (Eye of Wdjat) in their design
– Illusion retrains are based on old video game monsters that had the Dreams Alignment
– Shimon Muran is one of Exodia’s users
But that’s not all…
These cards were chosen perfectly! The background colors of the new cards are more distinct versions of their originals (except Millennium Shield). The new Millennium Shield takes the background colors of both artworks of the original and blends them. Now we have the following colors:
– green (Caveman)
– red (Golem)
– cyan (Shield)
– magenta (Moon Maiden)
– blue (Fiend Reflection)
– yellow (Exodia)
These colors represent the CMY color model which is used for printing processes. C (cyan) represents “Sennen” , M (magenta) represents “Mireniam” and Y (yellow) represents “Exodia”.
But there could still be more!
– Why does Moon Maiden protect Level 5 or higher monsters?
– “Exodo Blaze” depicts the battle of Exodia (used by Shimon Muran) and Zorc
– “Raging Hellfire – Exodo Flame” depicts the battle of Exodia (used by Yami Yugi) and Kaiba’s three Blue-Eyes White Dragons
Are there old video game monsters with the Dreams Alignment that were used by Yami Yugi?
Yes, there are!
– Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast (already has an Illusion-related retrain)
– Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts (already has an Illusion-related retrain)
– Wall of Illusion
Wall of Illusion fits perfectly! While being a Level 4 monster, the video game DM4 depicts it as Level 6 monsters. Since the new Millennium Shield took aspects of both its original versions, the new Wall of Illusion could do something similar, like take the average Level of both, which would be 5. But what’s with the background color pattern? Wall of Illusion’s background is black with dark blue accents. If the retrain has a distinct black one, we would get the CMYK color model (K stands for black), which is an advanced version of the CMY color model. Now the M represents “Mireniam” used by Shimon and the K represents “Mireniam” used by Yugi.
Since the new “Mireniam” monsters seem to complement the effects of the new Exodia, this is my prediction for the next wave of support:
– Millennium Wall of Illusion, Level 5 Illusion monster with a black background that can negate monster effects
