Huh… Jinzo the Machine Menace RD is the first time a Master Duel import into Rush Duel had its effect altered. It no longer turns into a Level 6 monster when Special Summoned by its own effect. Its effect is also no longer Quick Effect timing. Neat
I think quick effects have changed before, forget when migthve been a spell
Dark Magician Girl was the first iirc. We also had many Harpie’s cards especially Elegant Egotist and the Harpie Lady clones having either altered requirements or effects. There are also Cyber Tutu, Time Wizard, and Return among other cards being altered in some way. In almost every case, it is usually because these cards have rulings that do not work in Rush Duel, or to make the card more useful in Rush (DM being the only Legend). in the Machine Menace’s case, there are no Quick Effects nor face up Trap cards in the format, and the Level doesn’t matter as there are no Xyz monsters. Returner is also altered as it no longer has the attack directly effect as you are meant to send it from the field to the GY for its effect; there are no monsters that activate effects when sent directly to the GY like in MD, so Returner needs to activate that effect on the field.
Jinzo the Machine Menace holds another distinction, however, being the latest card from Master Duel to get a Rush print iirc if dual release cards such as Amabie do not count.
actually theyre have been a few. DMG had her effect altered to be more like the manga since there can only be a max of 2 DMs in the GY (as of now). and Twin-Barrel Dragon had its effect changed so that it can activate its effect the turn it was NS’d not on NS.
Jinzo – Returner also lost the ability to attack directly, and most of the Monarchs had their effects changed like Twin-Barrel Dragon to be the turn when they were Normal Summoned.
Machine Inspector is so useful and may see some experimentation. Reveals the top 4 cards of your opponent’s Deck, and you can get rid of any problem Trap card (or Machine if your opponent is running a Machine Deck). You also place the other cards on the bottom of the Deck, potentially disrupting your opponent’s draws and mills. Of course your opponent also has Deck knowledge and you place your own cards on the bottom too, but for the most part it generates advantage.
The other cards are largely hit or miss, though I appreciate Accelerator was printed with its manga artwork and combines both the manga and MD versions. Machine Menace gives me hope that more modern cards from other themes will eventually get printed in Rush’s format.
Ok, it seems they didn’t take long to reveal the import theme for KP16: the good (and Trap Cards hater) Jinzo.
Interestingly, we have a Monster that is a very recent import for Rush Duels (although it’s fun to think that Rush Duels, entering its year 5, already has enough power level that some cards from 2020 onwards can be imported)
I don’t think it’s enough to create a consistent Jinzo Deck, but at least the foundation is there and some of those cards will surely have uses in other Decks.
