話題沸騰のＥＤＯ－ＦＲＯＮＴに。ここの天賦羅はスケールの大きさもさる事ながら、その美しい造形には「金賦羅」の異名も付くほど。最新鋭の設備と異文化感にあふれた港内ですが、どこか懐かしさを感じさせる芳醇な香りも漂い、時折パチパチと鳴り響く小気味良い音色に心も揚がります。念願の天賦羅でしたが、周辺空域の荒れ模様に左右される為本日は一切入港されず・・・。運が悪かったとはいえ、その後の予定も白紙にせざるを得ませんでした。１年間心待ちにしていただけに誠に遺憾ではありますが、今回の対応については星３が妥当かと思います。
(Went to EDO-FRONT, which is the talk of town. The Tempura here is not only massive in Scale, but its beautiful appearance has also earned it the nickname “Kinpura”. Although the port is filled with the latest state-of-the-art facilities and has a cross-cultural feel to it, the air is filled with a rich aroma that evokes a certain sense of nostalgia, and the occasional crackling and popping sound echoes through the air, lifting one’s spirits. Although I had long awaited this Tempura, the rough conditions in the surrounding airspace meant it could not enter the port today. Due to my poor luck, I had to hand in a practically blank report. It’s really regrettable as I’ve been looking forward to this for over a year but I think at the end of the day I’ll give this 3 stars.)

This lore between Tempura and Gunkan has me more invested than the Visas and Albaz lore combined.
Somewhere, there will be a food wars and it will be epic!
Not making this a Suship card was… a choice.
Look at the set number. Main Deck monsters listed this late into their set are usually generic.
I doubt Gunkan would want this anyhow; do they really need some kind of coin flip effect on 1 Pendulum junk? Though, I’m curious if in-Archetype Pendulum monsters would help them out.
I mean, it makes sense – Suship specifically are based on gunkan maki sushi and this is tempura.
But lore-wise it’s from Edo Front restaurant, just as Suships. It’s just that suships reference very specific style of sushi and this is not even a sushi in the first place – it’s a fried prawn.
We don’t really need a separate archetype for tempura, ramen, karaage, yakiniku, donburi, etc. etc. etc. – we can just merge them into one.

We could have easily had two Suship cards that modernized the Deck but instead we got a lore adjacent Pendulum that won’t be played in either Pend soup or Suship because both Decks don’t need it. Cute artwork though.
It wouldn’t surprise me if this was the introduction of a new archetype/theme. It wouldn’t be the first time Konami-OCG slow rolled an archetype.

Would have been great if this had some sinergy with Hero, but the fact that it debuted in a set where Neos is the cover card is enough reference for me

I don’t think the guy is supposed to be eating anything. In both Shari and this he doesn’t mention eating but he’s reviewing them as vessels. The fact that it wasn’t able to go out to port as he’d hoped and was instead kept inside it’s hangar is what gave it a 3 star review, same as Shari where it’s 4 stars because it’s unfinished, noisy and he’s hoping it improves.
Pendulum Switch is much better.
Good art but bad effect I thought it was sushi support maybe the artist who made both is the same.

Man I want to eat it. They made fried shrimp a monster. Not surprised as theres an archtype of sushi.
This card means we’re going two sets in a row with no Ritual monsters. This is why Ritual monsters are so far behind devlopment than all the other summoning styles. Konami will throw 3 or 4 fusion archetypes into the set but its lucky if they give us even a single Ritual.
Don’t feed Judai’s ego too much, that’s how you end up with SUPREME DARKNESS to begin with.
