    8. D.D not D/D on January 5, 2026 11:47 pm

It took some time for the archetype to warm up, but we finally have THE strong wave of support. That said, I honestly feel this saga contributes to the feeling of saturation I’ve had since the “end” of Branded. We had like three or four storylines almost back-to-back with interconnected gameplay styles

It would be nice if we had something simpler in the next lore without losing originality

      • Fire King Enthusiast on January 6, 2026 12:30 am

Didn’t World Legacy technically have that same connectivity bit too, since like Branded the name stamped World Legacy cards (especially the monsters) were by-and-large support for the rest of the archetypes and their personal playstyles without exactly name dropping cards the way Albaz, Medius, and Diabellstar are?

        This lore arc stays stupid.

      • D.D not D/D on January 6, 2026 1:06 am

The concept can actually be traced back to Terminal World (or even further back), but from Branded onwards there was a pseudo-streak of interconnected and highly viable archetypes (there is a substantial difference between Shadoll-Zefra and Branded Bystial)

Okay, Konami is really pushing it with the level 12 monster. Op as hell AND easy to summon? At least make the summoning conditions a little harder to meet.

This is nuts in supreme king gate magican decks. Just the main guy alone is super easy to summon if they splash in as a high scale, with astropgraph and chronograph they have a replacement boss monster like Zarc without taking up the extra deck space. Already testing and he’s just always I’m the extra deck waiting to be summoned after searching a replacement scale of himself.

I frankly have no idea how to place those. But the question is, does this give DoomZ actual access to Medius?

And also, still no way to search Theoralize

      Reply
      • Yod on January 6, 2026 6:50 am

There are a ton of options for that
You can use medius to grab anyone of the maindeck monsters, either for a summon or simply to add them
Then there is the synergy with artmages because the way this deck summons speciffically gets around the restrictins of their field spell
Then you can use the doomz portion of the deck to basically lock the opponent out of searching and GY use, so its a mild lock on the opponent
And once you have enough resources to summon the big boss, you have a rather hard to get around monster which (when timed correctly) has 10000 ATK for the turn it is brought out in

The whole strategy in this deck is designed to either be splashed into other decks, or combined with random engines to allow for some rather diverse gameplay and a very flashy finisher card, so while the cards are good in isolation, we will only be able to see their true strength once people figure out which deck works best when combined with them

Im pretty sure that theorealize isnt searchable because that is the starting point for a lot of combos
Even though im very sure that eventually we will gain a card at some point which has an effect similar to “Add a card which mentions ‘medius the pure’ in its text from your deck to your hand”

    18. BrandyAndy on January 6, 2026 3:27 am

So Darklord got a new searcher and you can splash a bad pend engine to summon your big bois and gals. The you basically can’t attack is kinda iffy but we’ll see what we can cook with that haha.

Vidrium the Power Patron of Chaos Extermination has the highest attack of all Pendulum Monsters.
Power Patron Shadow Beast Nervedo is the first Illusion-type Pendulum Monster.
2 pieces of trivia to be added on Yugipedia.

      • Yod on January 6, 2026 6:35 am

Also Vidrium is one of “those” cards which have more than 5000 ATK, but actually not because of the limmit from Konami to write more than 5000 in the field for ATK or DEF

If you use its pendulum effect it gets itself up to 10000 for the turn

    22. Yod on January 6, 2026 6:10 am

      Broken
At least Vidrium, which does everything, and also Zegredo which basically gives you a colossus

      Reply
      • Yod on January 6, 2026 6:33 am

Ok, Zegredo is even better than I thought

You can use any effect which gets you a field spell to get the power patron field spell, then you can get zegredo from the field spell for 1 card in hand, and from zegredo you can get Jupiter and search Doomz destruction

So now you have a 3000 ATK beatstick, which also acts like a towers because of doomz destruction, and the opponent also cant use any effects in the GY because of the fieldspell

And all of this from a relativ generic search (or lucky draw) and any additional card in hand

    23. DonTakeru on January 6, 2026 6:52 am

How is it that everybody is commenting on the Power Patron cards, yet I haven’t seen a single person talk about the new Elvennotes handtrap that can make them play on turn 0?! It was already a pretty good deck before and has become even better now! Might legit be meta relevant in the future.

      Reply
      • Denn on January 6, 2026 10:06 am

for real that card does literally EVERYTHING that the deck needs. The turn 0 interruption is not that crazy because you can’t use elvennotes power patron’s quick synchro effect (if they make an elvennotes level 10 synchro that requires only 2 materials then it could be really good) so you just have one of the 3 other girls’ interruptions, but the deck is already capable of running so much non-engine and putting an additional handtrap that also guarantees you have some play when it becomes your turn is really good.

Most notably, this card fixes the problem of getting your first girl impermed or veilered and then having your center zone clogged (i literally ran a diabellstar azamina package just for that problem alone), but is also a quick effect so you can also just dodge the imperm and if they try to use the imperm on summon instead of waiting for the activation, regina can just summon another copy of the girl you were going to activate anyway.

ON TOP OF THAT, you can also easily get it back so that on your opponent’s turn you can summon her for 2 level 6 bodies and then use the effect of the level 7 synchro to revive the power patron, lower the levels to 3, then quick synchro to easily summon the level 10 synchro and negate their whole field (i generally prefer to quick synchro with accel synchro because it makes the power patron unaffected but this is way more consistent)

I don’t know too much of the other medius lore archetypes, but this looks like the best card out of all of these, it’s genuinely so good

I love how this basically makes ‘Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth’ playable now.
      – The Power Patrons cover Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz — all for a negligible cost of banishing a few cards from your Deck face-down for each one.
      – The Power Patrons are also Pendulums, making them highly reusable as material for non-Xyz summons as long as they’re used from the field.
      – They’re searchable or summonable with ‘Northern Cross Fire’, another new card. This is also able to easily search a Level 10 Ritual like the Supreme versions of Ruin/Demise, CA Vrash, Crealtar, and more. ‘Herald of the Arc Light’ or ‘Manju of the Thousand Hands’ can search the necessary Ritual Spell.
      – Terminus can search out Sophia directly!
And…not sure how much I’m missing, really. Should be straightforward from there.
