What an interesting design. Bonus points for being inherently xenophobic due to being tuners only
Finally some interesting synchro archtype that doesn’t rely on generic synchro boss monsters or cheating out stuff with Crimson Dragon.
Definitely designed by the same person who did the Live Twins and Halloween duo cards.
That artist would be Hanabushi, you can look at their art portfolio and it’s very clearly them; he’s drawn pokemon art before too.
The artist definitely watched or read Gachiakuta while designing these cards
They currently have no way to interact with banishment, and their end game is contingent on archetypal Synchros due to the Tuner SS lock on two cards and nearly all Tuner Synchros needing a non-Tuner.
Hopefully the missing monster (there’s one between Reco and Track Maker, and boy do I hope it’s a Level 4 for both Loudness War’s sake and the monster I’m about to mention, though it’s far more likely it’ll be a second Lv3 and that’s fine too) provides some banish recursion, because I’ll admit I’m not wanting to see if Burial will save me from myself here.
On the matter of archetypal Synchros, however, there’s ONE out-of-theme Synchro I can see maybe getting some use in this Deck, though it’d require a smidgen of investment on his part due to the Levels available; fortunately, the Levels HE has available mesh nicely to fix that problem and in one case actually helps the deck with something it already wanted to do: that’s right, it’s Visas!
Amritara can be made with only Tuners, to make him you’d most likely be using one or both of the other Visas (Starfrost + Mix or Clip, Samsara + Track Maker, and of those two Samsara can be used with one of the Lv2’s to make a Loudness War instead) since they’re ALL Tuners, and IF one decides to make him they get to search Mannadium Reframing, a Counter Trap that the deck would already have live enough, but with Visas floating around it could actually kill something if you wanted.
All in all, probably not enough on its own to give them much more to do, but it’s at least a little more to work with than before . . . ?
We got a yummy counter
huh… so now I wonder how well this would do paired with Mannadium
i dont think that will be too big of a problem. aside from the trap basically all the killer tunes can be implemented in almost anysynchro deck
I like how these had interactions with those level 3 tuners that sees play in virtually every single meta
Sinko Ah Blos
Clip will probably get her own Synchro upgrade in the future, she’s the only one without one.
There’s also another Level 3
Are you sure about that? Do you think this is the first time Konami overshadowing some thing, but they never realease it in the end.
😭😭😭😭😭 IF THIS BRATTY ON THE FIELD WOULD BE USED AS SYNCHRO MATERIAL, 1 BRATTY TUNER IN YOUR HAND CAN BE USED AS 1 OF THE OTHER MATERIALS. 💢💢💢
Oops, all Tuners
It was unlikely but a part of me was really hoping they were a zombie archetype (╥﹏╥)
Also, I personally bet that K.T is going to be the most prominent archetype of these 3, Heca also has a good chance imo
Red Seal is gonna ruins alot of people’s days
everything is tuner
I think it’s cute, those effects are only for ATK gains on two cards, but it can definitely win without them just due to how much interruption the deck has. Thematically it seems like in a music (tune[r]) battle, this deck punches back with a hard verse to win.
My bad, meant to reply to the one below
I don’t like how some of their cards expect your opponent playing tuners. I suppose some of the most popular hand traps are tuners, but I’m not sure if this is super reliable.
Also, I freaking love art for Killer Tune Synchro.
Agreed.
I mean, most handtraps are tuners, so unless you’re fighting a deck that doesn’t run any, you’re likely fine.
It’s going to be a little sketchier in the TCG, where you can’t rely on literally every opponent running Ash as roach repellent.
Plenty of handtraps are tuners, but we’ve evolved to a point where a lot of them aren’t. Droll, the Mulcharmies, the Dominus cards, Imperm, Nibiru, etc. etc. all don’t apply.
It’s tuners all the way down.
Phew, I get cold turkey if we go 2 weeks without another music-themed synchro solitaire pile. I just want to see the Battle Tuned reprint to confirm if there’s any trace of good taste left.
Take a shot every time you say the word tuner. Also, last monster is a level 3
Hard to gauge the power level of this honestly, it seems middling but I could definitely be wrong. But I love the design and style. I think being restricted to Special Summoning Tuners only, could hurt it overall but at least it’s not a turn long Condition.
Wup! This deck is differently getting a monster is Quickdraw Synchron like in a core set as super rare in the OCG then Upgrade to then Secret Rare in TCG. After the indirect support in Burst Protocol or it could be the last card in this set. lmao
Why does this archetype have 4+ interruptions on turn 0.
It doesnt.
How?
What word will they use to replace “killer” in the tcg? Place your bets.
Dealer
cool. “cool tunez”
Dibs on “Slaying”
Killah
Sick
But instead of tunes it’s Beatz
Sick Beatz
Now we need a Toon Killer Tune Toon-Tuner monster.
I’m gonna have to ask you to stop that thing you are doing.
I definitely try Killer Tune Loudness War in my Blackwing Deck.
Diabell, Queen of the White Forest can even cheat out Red Seal due to being a level 5 tuner synchro monster. Is that good? Idk. Depending on the match up, it might be useful.
This archetype should be named Killer Beats (like killer bees), not Killer Tunes.
I mean…it’s an archetype based around tuners. Killer Tune seems most app
Lmao everything is tuners. Interesting, the only thing i don’t like from this deck is the ability to banish opp’s extra deck randomly. A bit toxic i would say.
Also, waiting for next theme which the Xyz Rank can be treated as Level for Synchro Summon.
PUNK if they were actually punks
I mean they ARE punks, just not in the fashion sense
The word has more than one meaning after all
Is this the first Hard Twice Per Turn for a card’s activation?
They should unban Halq because this deck can take full advantage of him in both summoning the tuners monsters from your deck and extra deck
I love Synthesis archtypes (tuning with only tuners)
Everybody just follow me
Cuz we need a little controversy
Cuz it feels so empty
Without me
the k-on spinoff lookin strange
So tired of all this Special Summonings, Monster Effects and Lots of combos. Back then it was actually fun, You could f&%!ing play the game instead of sit through 20 Minute Long Turns of Link Xyz Synchro Summon . It’s time to change back to the old and fun game.
May I introduce you to our simplified savior known as Rush duels? Where setting monsters, backrow and passing is a really strong turn 1.
And you complain about it under a deck whose entire strategy is setting up slightly larger Hopper Lock and defending it with simple disruption effects, literally the definitive caveman Yu-Gi-Oh! adapted to modern days. What’s wrong with you, boomer?
Why don’t you play against 100x Synchro Summons & Lots of Negations, Then get back to me. This makes me want to Puke!
Ah Nostalgia, it blinds us all.
So I suppose the main plan here for now is to summon two Loudness Wars (or Loudness + Red Seal, maybe?) for a Hopper Lock-like scenario, potentially boost them with field spell, and disrupt your opponent with their 2nd effect, Playlists and generic answers. The entire deck working with other Tuners and Synchros leave a lot of space for hybrids and sub-engines, too.
Even if this will not see serious competitive play, it will be a fun casual/rogue deck and something that new players will be able to pick up. It’s a simple and straightforward control deck. Definitively my favorite from this pack.
Why does the archetyoe based on Hiphop have no black people?
Japonese have some trouble with black representation, maybe because of old Jynx who causes an uproar back then
Because nobody cares about your tokenism-esque, forced representation and ultimately this is more of a punk-themed deck than lol hip-hop (for that, we have D-Boyz already). Also, even if we assume that it’s Hip-hop/Rap themed archetype – Japan has pretty big rap scene, with Japanese rappers and Japenese aesthetics.
Either I really dont understand how this archetype works, or it inherently doesnt work
On its own it has really strange level and requirement match ups, where you cant really chain them well, since the level 4 snychro requires one of the 2s to be used 2 times to become the 6, and the two level 5ers cant be used to turn into the 6
the effects which activate when they are used as synchro materials are mediocre at best, and the endgame requires the opponent to have tuners, with no way of giving them a tuner or changing something they own to a tuner
on top of that, while their effect of using materials from the hand would be neat, there are almost no synchros (outside their archetype) which allow for 2+ tuners
So all in all, they dont work well with themselves, and because of their speciffic requirements they also dont really work with anything else…
Either im completely missing the point here or for some reason they simply dont work well
The point of the deck is to use other tuners or other decks that synchro summon for now. As they don’t have enough monsters in the deck to even do much. As for the effects you can just use them in other decks to help out with things you need to pull off combos. While the other effects that need your opponent to have tuners that would happen if you are in a mirror match or if your opponent is playing something like PUNKS or Red Dragon Archfiend. It’s not uncommon to run into something like that.
Just know that if you had PUNKS have level 3 monsters as tuners that can be used and can be used as a draw engine if they wanted too. So really it’s not impossible to play the deck. If you wanted to give your opponent a tuner i am sure its a way to do that as well.
The point of anti-tuner effects is to actually be anti-hand trap, because in their greatness Konami made a lot of relevant hand traps tuners. Your opponent will play Effect Veiler, Joyo or Joyo’s more situational sisters. None of these anti-tuner effects are super important for functioning of the deck, but they gonna be live more often than not, because virtually every deck want to send a tuner from hand to graveyard.
Konami lately is trying to uproot hand traps without banning 7+ cards. Morganite and Dominus cards reward player for limiting their deck building, while K9 and now Killer Tune punish directly and indirectly opponent for using hand traps.
