Get Ready For A “Gouki” Rematch! [DOOD]

    NeoArkadiaBy NeoArkadiaJune 9, 202564 Comments

“The best part of the anime was when he went ‘It’s Goring time’ and then gored all over those guys.”

    DOOD-JP006 Gouki Mashin Suprex
Level 4 EARTH Warrior Tuner Effect Monster
    ATK 1800
    DEF 0
You can only use the (1)st and (2)nd effect of this card’s name each once per turn.
    (1) You can reveal this card and 1 other “Gouki” monster in your hand; Special Summon both, but you cannot Special Summon while you control either of those monsters, except “Gouki” monsters.
    (2) If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can add 1 “Gouki” card from your Deck to your hand, except “Gouki Mashin Suprex”.

Note: This card is likely a reference to Junji Harata, i.e. “Super Strong Machine”, whose signature move is the 魔神風車固め(マシーン・スープレックス・ホールド)”Devil Windmill Suplex”/”Machine Suplex Hold”.

    DOOD-JP036 Gouki The Tyrant Ogre
Level 8 EARTH Warrior Fusion Effect Monster
    ATK 3500
    DEF 0
Materials: 1 “Gouki” Link Monster + 1 Warrior, Dinosaur, or Cyberse monster
You can only use the (1)st effect of this card’s name once per turn.
    (1) If this card is Fusion Summoned: You can target cards on the field, up to the total Link Ratings of the “Gouki” Link Monsters used as material; destroy them. If you used a Link-3 or higher monster as material, those cards cannot be activated in response to this effect’s activation.
    (2) If this card battles, your opponent cannot activate card or effects until the end of the Damage Step.

    DOOD-JP041 Gouki Dragon Ogre
Level 6 EARTH Warrior Synchro Effect Monster
    ATK 2200
    DEF 0
    Materials: 1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
You can only use the (1)st and (2)nd effect of this card’s name each once per turn.
    (1) If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can add 1 “Gouki” Spell from your Deck to your hand.
    (2) If this card is sent to the GY: You can target 1 EARTH monster you control; add 1 “Gouki” monster with lower ATK from your GY to your hand, also, while the targeted monster is face-up on your field, your opponent’s monsters can only target that monster for attacks.

Note: This card is likely a reference to “Tatsumi Fujinami”, i.e. “The Dragon”, a famous Japanese Professional Wrestler, and is credited for inventing the Dragon Suplex and Dragon Sleeper.

    DOOD-JP050 Gouki Sheik Ogre
Link-2 EARTH Warrior Link Effect Monster
    ATK 1900
Links: Bottom Left; Bottom RightEarth Warrior/Link/Effect
    Materials: 2 “Gouki” monsters
You can only use the (1)st and (2)nd effect of this card’s name each once per turn.
    (1) If a “Gouki” monster(s) is added from the Deck to your hand, except by drawing it: You can Special Summon any number of “Gouki” monsters from your hand with different Levels from each other, but you cannot Special Summon while you control any of those face-up monsters, except “Gouki” monsters.
    (2) During your Main Phase: You can Fusion Summon 1 “Gouki” Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or field as material.

Note: This card might also be a play on Seek as Go sought the Ignis as a mercenary working for SOL Technologies.

The card itself is a reference to Edward George Farhat, i.e. The Sheik, a famous pro wrestler. The card’s use of fire, for some reference, is referencing a Flame Tag-Team Death Match with his nephew Sabu against Atsushi Onita and Tarzan Goto. The Sheik suffered third degree burns and nearly died, going into a coma.

Or the fact Sheik was notorious for basically creating impromptu flamethrowers in matches.

DOOD-JP056 Gouki Toukon (Gouki Fighting Spirit)
    Continuous Spell
You can only activate 1 card with this card’s name per turn. You can only use the 2nd effect of this card’s name once per turn.
    (1) When this card resolves, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower EARTH monster (Warrior, Dinosaur, or Cyberse) from your hand in Defense Position.
    (2) You can Tribute 1 Link-3 or higher “Gouki” monster; Special Summon 1 “Dinowrestler” or “G Golem” monster from your Deck or Extra Deck.

Note: This is a reference to “Pain and Gain”, Go Onizuka’s skill that was called 闘魂 (Toukon) in Japan.

Gouki deserved so much better than this wave. Being attached to the hip to Dinowrestler, one of the worst archetypes in the game, is awful.
Disappointing reveals so far this month. Hopefully tomorrow we get something better.

Tied to the hip? The only card that explicitly requires Dinowrestler or G-Golem cards is the second effect on the continuous spell, and even then you could just run Pank which is still a really good card. Everything else allows you to use cards from those themes but does not demand it (the fusion says OR, so you don’t have to use a dinowrestler for its summon it can just be goukis)

      • J on June 9, 2025 11:49 pm

There’s just one card that does that…

      • Shrek on June 9, 2025 11:52 pm

Are you dumb? These cards do not require running Dinowrestlers at all.

Bcs to me this is awesome enough, good eff inn these cards, + the mashing is so welcomed and actually not surprising (since both G & DW used by same duelist)
+ the DM trap cards is also great. (idont give a fùk abt mikanko) so yeah to me this is satisfying.
So… remember to speak abt URSELF alwats & forever dumass, u can always go f-a-p on ur S.Strik b i t ch es if u dont like a card/group of cards.

        What do U mean dude,

The spell, Sheik and Suprex both help get Lots of bodies out for gouki. (And helps to synchro or fusion)

The synchro grabs U your Spells as well as also gets U bodies.

The fusion is your aggro play, popping cards, beastick and unstoppable attacks

So gouki can spam out alot more bodies then before, and has another agro option

I’m gonna guess it’ll take some time untill someone figures out the combo to use the (searchable) Spell second effect, to summon a Dinowrestler tuner, to use for a Naturia Beast.

Simple, but a lot of quality of life. No one cards, but I don’t think every deck needs that. It’s a basic boost to keep you playing, with some anime reference too in the spell.

I have to love the Artwork on these Gouki cards, which basically feature the Goukis beating up Dinowrestlers (IT’S DINO-OVER!). However, I wasn’t expecting the Anime reference to G Golem.

As always, saying “It’s ____over” is about as funny as a car crash. Cringe Bruno Santo, using your full legal name to comment on cards. Wrong as always too. A man with no opinions, just copy/pastes whatever he reads off reddit. “I wasn’t expecting anime references” in response to an anime deck.

    7. AiCyberse on June 9, 2025 11:48 pm

I see why they mentions the G Golems to summon but you only lock yourself to only ss Gouki´s by most of the cards

      Reply
      • Alderman on June 10, 2025 12:11 am

Mashin Suprex and Sheik Ogre only lock you out of non-Gouki monsters while the summoned monsters are on the field. I think the only hard xenolock the deck has is Destroy Ogre.
That said, Fighting Spirit doesn’t have particularly impressive targets. The best I can see is Crystal Heart, which I guess recycles the Link monster you tributed and gives it some ATK, piercing, and double attack. Not something to sneeze at, sure, but it doesn’t seem to offer much that Finishing Moving didn’t already.

      • Ehs on June 10, 2025 6:39 am

It’s a temporary lock while those monsters are on field, so you can work around it. The problem is Dinowrestler’s and G golem’s boss monters are kinda mediocre at best.

I can’t believe that THIS is how I find out that “Marvel Toukon Fighting Spirits” is literally named “Marvel Fighting Spirit Fighting Spirits”. Well, it’s not that unusual for asian names to be repetitive like this. I mean, in Yu-Gi-Oh there is “Mirai Yuugo — Future Fusion” in the OCG, which is literally “Future Fusion — Future Fusion”, amongst others, so I guess it checks out.

Anyway, the support is good enough, I guess. But the Deck needs some more stuff.

I wonder how they might do a G Golem expansion. I get that many decks these days don’t need all that much monsters (Tenpai, Vaalmonica, Maliss), but G Golem is not a deck from these days. It’s from the same era as Tindangles, which for some reason only got 1 boss monster and way more Main Decks than most other decks then.

This is… interesting. Obviously it works best with Goukis, but there’s also some more open support for Warrior/Dinosaur/Cyberse and EARTH stuff, making Gouki/Dinowrestler/G Golem hybrids a valid possibility.

      • Blaz Acestoune Masters on June 10, 2025 5:40 am

It really does make the hybrid deck possible as some cards lock you into Gouki unable to summon anything else before it after in that turn so being Earth support is one thing but this spell idea is broke(not working) on arrival

    19. yuumi-kun on June 10, 2025 2:38 am

Thinking Legacy, I was honestly expecting some direct refference to anime characters, maybe with those he interracted in duels, for example a “Gouki Wisteria Ogre” (featuring his Rival Yusaku, and his Name lit. means Wisteria Demon) or “Gouki Charisma Ogre”/”Dark Ogre”/”Bounty Ogre” (featuring Go and his stages Dark Onizuka and Bounty Hunter respectively) or even a “Gouki Homura Ogre” and “Gouki Revolver Ogre” (featuring Takeru and Ryoken respectively). Especially since he never won against the Twinks, these Ogres would have been very vengeful :]

Ok I can get a connection with Dinowrestlers, but G-Golems is a very forced anime reference. How do Gouki’s connect with digital dirt? This is just lazy and offers no benefit in place of a better effect.

Non-anime fans will be so lost.

While those cards are pretty cool, especially the new main deck guy and the link 2, the totality of Gouki’s options has barely improved. At best you now get a Pankratops on top of whatever the deck could already do.

Unfortunately that is still not good enough, not even for casual play. Gouki itself has just no disruptive power and Pankratops alone won’t stop anything.

If they just had made the effect of the link 2 to fusion summon a quick effect, that would’ve been fine. As it is, this only really improves the amount of bodies the deck can throw at you, but not really the quality of what you can do with those bodies.

Still, I take what I can get.
