RIP anyone that went to locals on Wednesday.
Night Assailant’s text has been updated in the database (in all TCG languages) to match its OCG counterpart. It now reads:
FLIP: Target 1 monster your opponent controls; destroy that target.
If this card is sent from the hand to the GY: Target 1 Flip monster in your GY, except “Night Assailant”; add that target to your hand.
Just in case some people are not familiar with the terminology, this means that when you activate the effect, you must target a Flip monster that is not any of your copies of Night Assailant. This card had been Limited for almost 17 years because its text simply said “except this card”, meaning you could retrieve a second copy of Night Assailant in your GY, use that one as discard fodder, and then retrieve the first copy for infinite fodder. The most recent Forbidden and Limited list now allows for 3 copies of this card, precisely because of this text update.
