The bird can finally search POWER BOND
STORY & ILLUSTRATIONS No.16
Machine Dragon Development Records
There existed two different factions inside those who were developing Machine Dragons based on chasing after the idea of “having absolute destructive force to change the tide of battle in one strike”. This is a record of their development results and newest units.
Machine Dragon Development
Reverse Faction
The main concept of the Reverse Faction is to capture live dragons on the battlefield and use them as weapons. The units themselves have almost no battle capabilities, but they excel at being cost-effective due to their ability to use resources on the field.

Cyberdark Impact!
Cyberdark Dragon
For them to obtain great destructive power, they need to capture a live specimen of similar power. To this end, the units themselves have also been getting larger, leading to higher costs.
Evolving Reverse Faction
The most cutting-edge units of “Cyberdark” were developed by using the entry model unit of the Front Faction “Cyber Dragon” as a motif because of their successes in reducing costs. They made the decision that to keep evolving, they needed to directly incorporate the power of the Front Faction. After scouring over previous battle data, they succeeded in drawing out immense power in their unit that was based on “Infernal Dragon” which showed a great affinity with their mechanisms. Its power to snatch victory in battles increased significantly.
Machine Dragon Development
Front Faction
This faction became the mainstream of weapons development due to “Cyber Dragon”: a unit with reduced costs from restricting functions and focusing solely on battling capabilities. It is a unit that embodies the very concept of “Destructive Power = Justice”.

Cyber End Dragon
By fusing several “Cyber Dragons” together, they have also succeeded in increasing the size and functions of the unit. Their development style of chasing only after destructive power knows no bounds.
Counteracting Front Faction
Determined not to lose to the Reverse Faction’s new units, the Front Faction too developed new units whose main gimmick was the capture devices found on the “Cyberdark”. Although there was heavy pushback from various places on incorporating technology from the Reverse Faction, development was jump started anyway after data showing that it would bring the power of their main unit “Cyber Dragon” to a higher rank surfaced. “Jormungardr” with its new functions also improved “Cyber Dragon’s” Fusion Tactics as a side benefit, bringing with it numerous gains on battlefields all around.

Of all the things I expected to get lore, an archetype heavily featured in the animes wasn’t one of them. The fact that this entry ties Cyber Dragon and Cyber Dark is also interesting, though I’m sure the part about “seeking ultimate destructive power” is based on Zane’s character.
Now I’m curious to what kind of lore they’d create for others like Marincess, Ancient Gear, and The Phantom Knights.
I just want to know now where the Cyber Ogres fit into this lore.
.
.
.
Also, make more Cyber Ogre cards.
Imo trains/XYZ machines fit the lore of an armed technological war better. Cyber /cyber dark was a mishmash of concepts that not even the anime bothered to develop properly
Hopefully they release a Cyber Angel Tactical Try Deck and do something interesting with the Cyber family in general (obviously not lol)
Do you think the Angels and Warriors have a role in this mysterious war?
I want cyber dragon supports, the one that can abuse the omni-negate “cyberdarkness dragon”.
Cyberdarkness is a Cyberdark card. You have Infinity
This is so ass. What war? What factions? Who designed these cyber dragons? More cost effective compared to what? What’s the goal of this whole arms race beyond “make strongest weapon”? I swear, they aren’t even trying with these “stories” anymore. There’s no vision, no direction, no purpose – nothing but some random yapping an intern threw together as a placeholder. Which they later forgot to replace with actual lore before releasing.
Welcome to the world of yugioh card lore lol, thats the vast majority of them
Things like Albaz and Duel Terminal epic journeys are actually the minority here, most of the card lores are vague and brief like that
If you go into YGO expecting Tolkien quality writing you might be in the wrong place.
The war between the Front and Reverse Cyber Styles in GX. Shepherd and his dojo students including originally Zane supported the Front Style, focusing on respecting the opponent and cost effectiveness. The Reverse Style Deck was sealed in the dojo (referenced in the Front Style studying the Reverse Style, so they kept a deck in their premises). Zane wanted that deck so he defeated Shepherd for it.
The Cyber Dragon backrow focused on a team of engineers, electricians, and welders designing and modifying CyDra. Starting with Core, then Proto, then going to the different CyDras in order from original to Zwei to Drei etc. The Fusions combine multiple CyDras together for cost effectiveness (names being treated as the same compared to standard GX Fusions, which requires several specific materials, and eventually CyDra received generic Fusions). They are weapons of war clearly.
The world’s strongest is referencing Zane, who wanted to be the most powerful Duelist. The two factions embody their respective playstyles – same name and generic Fusions + being weak at first and getting stronger by capturing Dragons. Zane’s playstyle changed from making the most of his resources to slowly using his GY to playing in the GY.
This explains why the new cards have more integration with the two themes and may also allude to future support where both are supported.
I don’t think that’s the war in question, since it mentions that both front and reverse are being developed for the same war. I think it’s more likely the Cyber Vs. Jinzo war, as seen in GX Season 4.
Infernal Dragon is part of the lore??? Oh HELL yes.
nice joke because infernalDra og name is hellDra
Reverse Faction, Front Faction…
What about the War Crimes Faction that made Infinity?
Really a hard once per turn omni-negate with no protection or float ability?
Se são crimes de guerra que você procura eu te apresento chimeratec
I hope Jormungardr is the start of a new series of Norse-themed hybrid designs and not just a one-off crossover.
What’s the point of giving Cyberdark Wurm a similar appearance to Infernal Dragon? It’s not treated as a Dragon, it can’t be equipped by the Cyberdarks (and even if it did, it would provide a measly 800 ATK boost), and it has no effects when equipped. It’s literally just a Circular for Cyber Dragon and Cyberdarks don’t know what to do with its body on the field (in-archetype) since it doesn’t even work with their backrow.
Also we only have Cannon and Claw but we are told the Reverse Faction already abandoned the development of Dragon-type Cyberdarks to make monsters like Wurm? Lol, all this lore is just an excuse to print more Cyber Dragon support disguised as Cyberdark cards. Shame because the latter could have really used more specific support. Without the focus on Equip cards any “Cyber” support will inevitably benefit Cyber Dragon more than Cyberdark.
Yes cyber dragons need support they have no protection
Can’t believe they left out Chimeratech/Rush’s CyDra
Let’s see how this war is going to be. I still want to see what will be the role of the chimeratec line. And specially what is going to reason for cyberdark end dragon to born
