    Story 06: Fiendsmith [VBEX5]

    NeoArkadiaBy NeoArkadiaJune 1, 202511 Comments

    “I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with light!”

    STORY & ILLUSTRATIONS No.06
    Fiendsmith
    “Fiendsmith Engraver” is a lone wolf demon hunter who defeats demons and forces them to make a contract with him in order to make their power his own. This is a tale about a man who lives in the underworld and a quirky demon who cries crimson tears.

    In An Unseen World Where There Are Many Demons And Monsters Abound, There Is A Certain Man Who Is Utterly Diabolic…
    There is a man that fights demons, using the transforming weaponized coffin “Requiem” that he obtained from a demonic contract. All he does is fight demons, either through bounties he receives or ones he happens to encounter. However, whenever he fights, he’s so brutal, that even real demons call him a “Demon”. This man, dubbed the “Fiendsmith”, hunts down every demon that comes into his field of vision.

    The Transforming Weaponized Coffin “Requiem”
    An enormous coffin that the Fiendsmith carries with him. The Fiendsmith forcibly feeds the demons he defeats into this “Requiem”, and makes them form of a contract with him, and when he decides to unleash their power, he feeds Requiem a dog tag inscribed with the demon’s true name. Used tags are fed to his familiars “Sanct”.

    The Demon Summoning Form “Sequence”
    A mode that allows the forced summoning of the devoured demons. A summoned demon is thrown into a brutal battlefield whether or not they want to get involved. There is also a mode that allows the Fiendsmith to be possessed by demons with whom he has a strong contractual connection, while Requiem transforms into a weapon or piece of equipment that suits his possession.

    The Demon God Form “Agnumday”
    A combat mode in which Requiem itself becomes a demon. While he’s out of control in this form, his raging appearance is truly that of a Demon God.

    TL notes:
    -The line mentioning that Engraver is called the “Fiendsmith” writes it in kanji as 悪魔鍛冶師 (akuma kajishi, demon smithing master), force-read as “demonsmith” (localized as “Fiendsmith” in the TCG).
    -We have previously translated the reference art for Requiem from a Twitter post, which also features Engraver.

    Stay away from the woman with the crimson tears.
    Rumors have spread about her around the abandoned luxury buildings.
    The Fiendsmith heard about the rumors, but wasn’t interested in them. In general, anyone dealing with petty things like that are not really worth much.
    Lacrima the Crimson Tears

    A woman who confused forming a “Contract” with a “Marriage” proposal. After an incident in one of the abandoned buildings, she took a liking to The Fiendsmith, and offered her body and soul without a single demand of compensation. As a result, she’s able to support him by astral projecting without being completely sealed within his weapon of choice. However, in order to unleash 100% Lacrima’s power, words of love are necessary.
    Fiendsmith’s Lacrima

    The Fiendsmith left the slums, searching for somewhere to sleep for the day. He came across a fancy hotel with a prominent clock tower. In the past, only government official scale VIPs were allowed to enter building, but The Fiendsmith busted down the door, and rudely made his entrance.
    Immediately, he heard a voice echoed through the halls that struck him as either sobbing or a mocking laugh.
    A girl with crimson tears in her eyes appeared. They quickly signed a contract. Immediately, Requiem transformed for combat. For some reason, the woman blushed and nodded aggressively.
    Fiendsmith Kyrie

    The Fiendsmith went to confront Mestopheles, the most evil demon in existence, the source of the “Day of the Devil” that caused the end of the world as everyone knew it. Before Mephisto, who stood higher than everything else, the Fiendsmith found himself in an absolutely dire situation.
    During all this, Lacrimosa pops out on her own and offers a contract. The Fiendsmith hesitated for a moment and then reluctantly accepted.
    “Gimme every last drop of ya, girl—!”
    Fiendsmith’s Rextremende

    The evolved form he obtained from forging a traditional contract with Lacrima. Her tears have become bullets that pierce any enemies that stand in their way.

    TL note:
    -In the line where Engraver agrees to form a contract, he uses a very vulgar tone.

        I also want that.

        Well, would be called Mestopheles. Since Mephisto is Marvel’s character, and I don’t know if Konami would risk that (if they changed Fairy Tail Snow’s outfit to not be Snow White’s colors, and changed Cinderella’s name to Prinzessin, then no shot they’d risk calling the card Mephisto).

        But yes, I think they’re gonna release Mestopheles at some point.

      Engraver is CALLMEARJ’s Ultra Vegito in the demon realm, Lacrima is Ranni, and Mephisto is Lucif lol

      Lacrimosa’s tears are important, huh? So what you are saying is that Devil May Cry?

        Lacrima’s tears become speeding bullets? In an archetype where most card names are derived from Christian songs?

        Isaac, I think I found the perfect archetype to pair you with…

      Why is this a post apocalyptic Natsume’s Book of Friend meets Goblin Slayer?

      ‘Give me every last drop of ya, girl!-” WTF?!!
      Her tears are now bullets. Now it just got metal.

        Its more Natsume’s Book of Friends meeets Devil May Cry.

        Fiendsmith Engraver is basically Dante but with more gun transformations rather than sword transformations

        Kinda like how Kingdom Hearts and Keyblades became Magikey and Maftea’s gun transformations

    5. MeWhoElse on June 2, 2025 6:38 am

      Engraver = Dante
      Lacrima = Trish
      Stealing Demon’s power = getting a new Weapon after a Bossfight (Ceberus, Agni&Rudra, Luficer, you name it)
      Desirae = Devil Trigger
      Mephisto = Mundus
      Lacrima’s tears = are you telling me a Devil May Cry?
