First time?
First time?
No but someone had to say it.
Nah just pointing it out.
Miracle Girls has a decent effect on paper, and she can easily be milled with your other cards, recovered with Turtle, and immediately Tribute Summoned after. However, it is clunky to use as a Level 6 monster that cannot Special Summon herself, meaning you need at least 2 Sea Serpents on board (1 to Tribute Summon, and another for her Requirement) before she can do anything. You also need Party in your GY for the added protection, requiring even more set up. I do appreciate that the Miracle Girls with Party can get up to 4000 ATK and tie with most Maximums, fulfilling the spirit of the Abysskites as the mermaids that became Okeabyss (who can also get to 4000 ATK with a send from top of Deck to GY effect).
Abysskite Party makes it even easier to mill your Deck and can be included in existing builds as it is not tied to the mermaids. But you are also generating advantage for your opponent by milling their Deck as well. While you are intended to shuffle your opponent’s monsters back immediately after with Liem to recover her respective Maximum part, you may not necessarily have Liem in play. A good card but one you have to be mindful of the negatives. The ATK boosts for the mermaids are cute but effectively useless as you will just Maximum them off anyway and 2400 ATK in total is nothing.
Violate Halo is finally printed and it is the same as in the anime. It grants piercing with Sea Serpents (solving a huge issue for the Maximums particularly as only Kraken has piercing and you need to forfeit hand advantage in doing so), and can be recovered with Ange and Okeabyss. The piercing works well with Kraken L’s weakening effect, while the destruction protection can insulate Okeabyss, who has none on his own. However, as you need 2 or more face down Spell/Trap cards for the protection, the two Abyss Maximums already have built into the center pieces, and the same Maximums have both monster and backrow removal to handle problem cards, the protection is iffy at best and only benefits Okeabyss and weaker non-Maximum Sea Serpents in the short term.
Abysspiny Turtle recovers your Abysskite Mermaids from your GY back to your hand if you happen to dump/mill them, and helps offset Miracle Girls’s Tribute requirement. Serves as a decent extender on turn 1 when combined with Party or similar mill cards, and needing to be the only monster you control prevents potential abuse with Party potentially milling up to 3 cards at once.
I think Abysskite Party was thinking of being used in conjunction with Grand Extreme to fix the weakness of filling your Opponent’s GY. Likewise, I can see someone trying to abuse Cat-trois Choice with that Spell Card (as the strategy they’re going for is very similar to that seen with Straynge Cat’s Deck)
However, unlike Straynge Cat’s Deck, at least the three sirens have synergy between their cards and allow combos to be made (Abysskite Ange in STONKS since she can recover Spell Equip, increase her ATK thanks to the Spell Card and gives draw power)
With Grand Extreme being used alongside Party in Tremolo’s Deck in this episode, you are probably not that far off. Party is still a very good card in spite of its weaknesses.
Ok, I did expect something from Sea Serpent, but I didn’t expect Abysskite to have an alternate Boss Monster with one of the worst Levels in Rush Duels (Level 6) and a handful of extra support that is welcome, but I don’t think it changes much to the Deck.
Anyway, the pack revealed support for Manabu and Tremolo today, but we still need to see those new things related to Harpie and Celeb Rose (and the extra support for Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes, in addition to DARK Galaxy)
Lvl 6 is good, have a draw card, bad level is lvl 5
