Actual good thrust/foolish goods target
Thrust cannot set counter traps. Also it’s spelled Christmas, OP
@VsEnjoyer
the X in Xmas is pronounced “chi” and is the first letter in Χριστός (christos) [Christ].
Xmas *is* Christmas in all ways, it isn’t some “less true” spelling. People are allowed to abbreviate how to write Christmas, especially using an abbreviation created *by* those of the faith, and Xmas is just such a Christ-appreciating abbreviation.
it is a common misconception by people who do not know the history of this favorite holiday of mine that Xmas is a “wrong” spelling.
Ark, you are to spell it how you see fit.
“Xmas” as abbreviation of Christmas appeared in Bernard Ward’s History of St. Edmund’s college from 1755. “X’temmas”, similar abbreviation appeared appears in various documents from 1551 and even earlier “Xp̄es mæsse” appeard in Anglo-Saxon Chronicle from ~1100.
I was not expecting the philology lesson, i’ll gladly take it
actually not bad
I might try it out with neos but not sure
This card is a reference to Dragon’s Bind from the 2015 set Breakers of Shadow, which also has Seiyaryu on the art and the same background, and an effect that references 2500 ATK.
This card being revealed on Christmas Day is because Seiyaryu is loosely connected to Christmas due to its Japanese name, Holy Night Dragon, and is thematically related to the Christmas themed Starry Knights (Holy Nights) archetype.
Ooh, thanks for the breakdown!
And 2500 is similar to the 25th day of December
Good blue-eyes support, again
Komoney pushing it for worlds
Soon limiting other top decks
does blue eyes actually run traps besides that one continuous reborn/seracher card?
Yes. Last ocg report the blue-eyes deck that got second place ran a total of 7 trap cards (4 different ones)
so much pink
It’s not pink, it’s magenta!
@Gin Juichi
This comment, too, is Masahiro Inoue’s fault
New Zarc support for Zarcmas would of been better but this is fine I support.
Finally, the non searchable machina negate.
This works very well as a Christmas reveal.
It’s a reference to Dragon’s Bind, a card that features Seiyaru, tied to Christmas due to a pun that was fleshed out in the retrain and supporting archetype. As for this year specifically, the focus on 25 in the effect ties into the 25th anniversary.
Well I suppose since most of the Dimension Dragons have 2500 atk it’s still works.
Merry Clitmas
Here’s that idiot again
Deck the halls with the fires that burn the wicked!
Ok 2 things about this card:
First of all, why arent the other 25 anniversary cards like this?! Having them focused on 2500 (no matter if its stats, lp or something like that) is so much more convenient than 25 cards of something… also it would support the “protagonists monsters” type of monsters at the same time.
And second of all, I wish we would live in a time where yugioh didnt focus on obnoxious hadtraps, and instead on cards like this. This card is balanced and fair and still good… however its slow, and thats good for a negate
I get the vibe this is low-key Starry Knight support. On Christmas! Very nifty! Tho’ I bet it’s gonna be feature in Dark Magician and others more often.
So a double use Omni (well not S/T effects) counter usable in basically every deck by just doing normal things is incredibly cool, but also not gonna fix the issue of hand traps and generic spells are usually more important
Yea… the reason most traps arent used these days is that hand traps are the only way you can do stuff on your opponents turn both turn 0 and with no interaction
The only way this could be fixed is by banning both most handtraps, and what causes hand traps to be required (and also overtuned)
So im a bit confused as to why gamefreak would print a card like this in the current era where a instant use effect is more important than a recursion efect
I just hope this means that hand traps, and either combo decks (which I dont think they would touch) or
(all annoying) generic dissruptive/defensive bosses are send to the chopping block soon
>gamefreak
Yod, wrong game xD.
But also – problem is that in current shape and form banning hand traps and what cause them to be required would not be feasible. We talk scrubbing off majority of competitive and semi-competitive decks down to around mid 5d’s era or at least before DUEA.
More Eldlich support!!!
If the op tried to write in the ordinary way it would suffer spontaneous combustion
Another card to Highlander with Meklord Emperor Wisel! Let’s go True Master Machine Players!
Actually pretty good. Not limited to something like Dark Magician and instead open to ones like Summoned Skull and its variants or even Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
Dark magician support.
10 years from now we will get a monster supporting 2500 ATK/DEF stuff called Dragon’s Kind.
15 years from now we will get another trap called Dragon’s Wind.
20 years from now – Dragon’s Blind.
Starry Knight support!
But I bet Dark Magician and others benefit more.
dark magician support?? psssh nah, i think yall meant Launcher Spider support
