*sad Dark Flare Knight noises*
These cards do work with Dark Flare Knight, from what I can tell. They let you play it without needing Dark Magician, even.
Dark Flare Knight unfortunately isn’t FIRE so you can’t use him to summon Mirage Swordsman. Hopefully this year’s holiday box features a Dark Magician/Flame Swordsman Fusion (they like to combine aces a lot) to tie in with these cards.
So the course of play would be something like FIRE fusion > Mirage Swordsman > Dark Flare Knight > Mirage Knight, I guess
Equip Salamandra Fusion with a Fire Warrior Fusion monster. Sacrifice it for Dark Flare Knight.

Well less viable seeming than hoped at a glance
i wasnt expecting much from it, but this is far less viable then i thought
This actually seems playable
Archetype needs more monsters.
No discard all dinosaurs from opponent’s hand, I sleep. Almost had something close to anime Mirage Knight’s anime effect where it splits into DM and FM at the end phase, sort of. Would like to see a normal Flame Swordsman with the same art like they did with BLS. Do the same with Barox, etc.
No “Spirit Flame Blade” signature move equip spell and no “Burning Soul Sword” anime equip spell used with Flame be Swordsman during Virtual World arc.
Well, we finally have a new FiRE Fusion archetype… I guess.
Fighting Flame Sword is the exact panel where “Toukienzanken” comes from, that’s probably the signature move spell.
Burning Soul Sword feels like a safe bet to be released sometime later this year.
Considering the dub name for the attack was Flaming Sword of Battle (which sounds a lot cooler) your probably right. That’s kind of disappointing. Oh well.
Not bad.
I think they should have made the Flame Swordsman archetype power ranger themed. We already have a Blue Flame Swordsman. The original could have been retrained as Red Flame Swordsman and so on. Giving us a lot of Fire Warrior support.
I wonder if it’ll get the Gate Guardian treatment where all the only card with a Collectors Rare print is the unplayable card, and everything else is super and below.
Hopefully this means we will get some Flame Swordsman support in the OCG when these cards inevitably arrive over there in this year’s World Premiere Pack.
We got a few Gate Guardian anime cards last year so we may get Burning Soul Sword printed sometime this year with an effect that it mentions Flame Swordsman.
Its disappointing Fighting Flame Dragon is so clearly supposed to be a reference to Joey’s Hermos fusions that become equip spells but it can’ actually be fused by Claw of Hermos.
I see the archetype mainly being played as a hybrid deck w/ Infernoble or some cards making Infernoble the deck of 2024 & making them dangerous going 2nd too. Infernoble gonna be bonkers.
Incredible…10 new cards and they do NOTHING. The deck could have been interesting but a some of the cards are over-balanced or aren’t completely synergistic with another.
You are the NOOB of the day I guess
For some reason, I think I can see some people splashing Flame Swordsdance as a main deck or side deck option due to it being pretty a generic disruption and easily searchable Trap Card.
New support for Infernoble LEETZZGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
