Let’s play a Raiding Card Game!
Full disclosure upon opening — We don’t really do sponsored posts on this site, I get dozens of emails a day asking us to, but that’s not why people come to our site. They come for yugioh, and while this game is not yugioh, it’s at least made by one of its most prominent developers, and the guy who created speed duels, so I was happy to try out his new game with some friends at my locals. If I didn’t personally believe in this product, I would not have made this post, as I never want to mislead my audience. This game was genuinely fun, and I genuinely want to support the former dev in his new endeavor.
Today I’m posting about Robot Raiders. I’m sure many of you by now have seen the interviews with a dozen or so content creators in our community about this one, and today is our turn. I was sent the first physical kit of this game to try out, so I grabbed some friends from my locals, including a local yugituber so as not to use my own channel for this. Be sure to check out his channel, he posts some good stuff from my local area.
These players had never seen or heard of Robot Raiders before, and had backgrounds from various other TCGs.
I played the Archer, the only class I’d never played before — as I’ve actually played some digital versions of this demo before in the past, so I at least had a rudimentary understanding of what we were doing.
The basic gist of the game is that there are 3 robots and 1 boss, in a four player game. The boss gets to level up into two other bosses basically making it a 3-on-3 match. You use pre built decks that you can customize throughout the three fights to make your decks better, while the boss gets to pick from various abilities to change the encounter and counter certain builds and plans. We did some interviews in the video so you can see how the people felt before and after playing the game, rather than me trying to colour your opinions in a post like this.
The plan seems to be future updates in the forms of new robots as singular releases, or entire raids with bosses and robots bundled together.
You can back the kickstarter here. I genuinely hope you do, as I want to play more of this.

Ooooh, that looks like a dope card game !
I think doing a sponsored post like this is okay since the creator worked on Yu-Gi-Oh! It sounds a little similar to HeroSync too, doesn’t it? Thanks for putting this on our radars!
Absolutely, and HeroSync is something I’m actually still working on (just, self funded, which is very, very slow going). This project is literally going live on kickstarter tomorrow and is significantly more relevant.
Well deserved sponsor! Hope you guys come try Shadowverse too
I played it at e3 in 2017 and they gave me some physical shadowverse cards for winning matches, I got like 8 of them somewhere in a closet in my house. The game felt fun enough.
Actual cool sponsor
