Very far from making equips remotely playable
It’s fun, I like cards named after sets. Don’t really know why it’s called Return of the Duelist though, it didn’t have much to do with equips.
heroic champion excalibur was on the cover set and this is his helm in the art. The set also intrduced noble knights so i guess is a way to compact all the references in one.
Noble Knights were introduced the set before REDU (Galactic Overlord) with the normal monster Noble Knight Artorigus
The set introduced a handful of Equip Spells, and some Xyz monsters had effects that equipped themselves.
Even Noble Knights got something in this set. Wow.

Finally with this card my summoned skull deck will be completed to be able to steal all of the monsters on my opponent’s field.
Prophecy/spellbook support super copium?
I mean they were introduced IN THE SET……
Did zexal use more equips during its run than the other series?
if you consider Zexal Weapon monsters as equips….. yes, I guess?
Vylon support, I guess? They play few of their in-archetype equips and Vylon Disigma is a thing.
This is one of these cards thay has potential but first people need to figure out where to play it. Maybe Konami plans to release soon some new equip archetype?
Noble Knights
Dude.. you guys are forgeting about infernoble and I don’t know how
(Infer)noble knights will not play this card because they already have 2000000 ways to achieve the same effect with less effort using in-archetype cards. At best it will see experimentation there and quickly be gone because people realize how it brings nothing new or needed there.
This will be more exciting in decks that can XYZ summon, play one or two good equip cards and really would love to stop rely on Hidden Armory… so Chemicritters, I guess?
Stoic Challenge Otk
This references the small number of Equip Spells in the set and Nistro using 2 anime original Equips.
Everyone saying Noble Knights… but it’s a nice boost for water… also I’ll be adding Golden Rule off that. In some decks I’ll be adding kahyoreigetsu.

Vylons with Disigma are about to go so hard
You add double edge sword and equip it to yubel-the ultimate Knight. Double edged sword says both players take battle damage involving the equipment monster. But Yubel- the ultimate Knightmare says you take no battle damage involving this card. You have Knightmare pain on the field. At a monster with 4000. Double edged sword makes your opponent take 2000 battle damage. Knightmare pain makes your opponent takes 2000 and Yubel the ultimate Knight will inflict 4000 damage. That’s 8000 damage. GG
Sure it might be unrealistic to do but hey it be funny to do it.
Sorch trap because tuner because riding duel? I don’t know if I see it but I can’t think of anything else. Vicious Claw and Magnum Shield became monsters that sorch neither, sad!
while this will only be used for warcrimes it’s funny they went “yeah stoic challenge searcher” just like that
Also Nurse deck just gets to search snatch and steal now, which is fun…. and I get to search mark of the rose if I have to go 2nd in rikka.
There’s a huge design space between “gun that increases atk” and “normal spell with extra steps” so of course konami won’t pursue it.

This can be Lyrilusc support:
The deck already runs Thrust for Bird Call and where arf thou so can use this or thrust to search an equip cards that increase attack. Equip it to Lyrilusc Assembled Nightingale for OTK.
Although the best Lyrilusc OTK enabler is 100% “life hack”
(the quick play spell card that makes the bird’s attack equal to opponents lifepoints and can be discarded for cost and banished from GY for the same effect but that card isn’t searchable so I play it as a 1 of that guarantees win)
At least, this card could be useful in a Mikanko’s side-deck should the opponent use Xyz monsters.

Close enough, welcome back Stoic Challenge.
I play Noble Knights, and I’m having trouble seeing how this really helps the archetype. Noble Knights can easily recur in-archetype equips with in-archetype cards already, recurring to field, hand, or deck.
So, unless there’s an equip that’s coming out that revives from grave, all this is going to do in Noble Knights is bait out an Ash… kinda late in a duel…
Infernoble Knights can have now a new way to get equip cards, very cool
