    [Reference Art] WAKE CUP! Macchia

    NessBy NessOctober 3, 20256 Comments

    Italians getting mad at coffee

    WAKE CUP! Macchia
    Full art:

    Appearance:

    Top: “Forehead“
Bottom: “A gal who looks like she has a strong attitude“

    Top:

    Left: “Milk foam”
    Top: “Caramel”
Macchia: “Por favore” (“Please”, in Italian…if spelt as “Per favore”)

    Rest of the outfit:

Left: “It’s a simplified version, but the half-liquid parts are the same as Mocha‘s”
Right: “The latte art has a heart pattern”

    Description & Amore-kun

Left: “She is Macchia-chan from the espresso macchiato!”
Right: “Amore-kun, has a diligent personality”

TL note: “Amore” means either “love” or “beloved” in Italian, and its diligent personality is a pun on mamemameshii (hard-working, diligent) being written with the homophone 豆 (mame, bean)

Holy! Two planes can arrive in that forehead

Por favore… wow that’s a dangerous translation. Por Favore is indeed Italian, but if you drop the e off the end, it becomes Spanish for the same thing

Is the pun not ‘pour’ favore?

      • H7_KnightOfStars on October 6, 2025 2:45 am

Close enough, in Italian it’s actually “pEr favore”.

This is also true for amore. Drop the e at the end and it becomes it’s Spanish equivalent in amor. Makes me wonder which is the correct translation
