Pyro is such a weak and unsupported type that they could’ve put Level 6 or lower like Fossil Dig for Dinosaurs. But it’s okay.
I can see they might have been hesitant on doing that.
When Fossil Dig was made, sure, the Type was undersupported enough that they were cool with making it Level 6 or lower Dinosaurs. But over time, the Dinosaurs got more and more support that they’re no longer the undersupport Type they once were.
With that in mind, I would guess this was what they may have been considering, and so they just made it a straightforward 1-to-1 Reinforcement of the Army but for Pyros.

Hmm. So they decided to go the route of the English Dub after all and make Bonfire a Pyro-Type searcher, rather than the blanket FIRE Attribute searcher its printed text in the Japanese version said it was. This was always what I’d figured they’d do, since it helps control what can be searched better, and since the only 2 times this card appeared, it was in the context of Pyro-Type monsters.
It was always Pyro-Type in the anime if you look at the text on the card, it being FIRE was a grievous mistranslation.
With Alito and Takeru getting 1 card each it makes perfect sense that O’Brien would get 0 cards. No, trueman daddy deck milling bonfire doesn’t count.

This is actually really interesting with Agnimal Candle. This is a free level 4 pyro tuner extender if you ever draw it, and it doesn’t lock you into anything.
