R.I.P Secret Chief Investigator Misfortune.
Considering how full this product’s contents already are, I wasn’t expected us to get Mitsuko’s cards here.
Besides, I’ve been wanting more Skysavior cards, including Fusions for the other 2 Main Deck Warriors. So I’m quite satisfied. Hopefully Transamu of Transcendence will give us a Fusion form for Seir.
Oh! I just realized.
There was no chance Mitsuko’s Darkness Fusion could have been here in the first place. Because if there was, the empty slot would have been among the rest of the Anime-themed Fusions. Instead, the slot was after the Red-Eyes Black Dragon-related Fusions.
Okay. We already know which is the final Fusion Monster of the package and it is for Skysavior (it makes sense since I highly doubted that it only had one Trap Card and it is already for the Deck)
The Effects of this Fusion Monster don’t seem like a big deal except for the second Effect that helps prepare the ground for your next Turn or to have another Fusion Monster on the Field. However, the most important thing is that this opens the door for other Skysaviors Monsters to have their Fusion Monsters (Ranga is now missing his lunar counterpart, which is usually the best Fusion Monster)
With all this, I wonder where that support for Cyber Dragon and Excutie hinted at by Recent Reprints will be (I guess the December package)
PS: F for Mitsuko’s cards: She is not evil enough to have her cards here or she is already evil by nature (especially if you compare her to other Darkness Duelists)
The last Fusion in Red Reboot of Darkness is not so surprisingly enough a LIGHT Skysavior that uses Soleil (reprinted in the latest Battle Pack) and Ranga (who did not have a Fusion until now) as material. This also gives Ciela and Dunkes their fifth in theme Celestial Warrior Fusion for their effects, meaning you no longer have to use the Divine Rulers.
Galflare is relatively easy to summon in theme. Ranga can summon Soleil or Lua from the GY, Lua can use her effect to treat her name as Soleil on the field, both Fairies can potentially add Fusion to your hand, and Divine Transformation in MRP2 allows you to use hand materials if you use OG Soleil as material. Witnesses can excavate and add the card you need for your combo to your hand. This monster being Level 9 for its meager stats, combined with its second effect and how Ranga needs 1 of 2 specified Spells in hand to summon an Angel from the GY, is intended to be combed with Witnesses.
Both of Galflare‘s effects are really good. For a relatively simple cost of placing a card in their hand on the bottom of their Deck (Skysavior likes to maintain hand advantage through drawing and excavation so not an issue), Galflare can either disrupt your opponent’s GY, or add either Wish (their form of removal which is guaranteed to go live next turn since you fulfill the requirement already plus even more excavation with Witnesses) or ANY Level 1-4 LIGHT/DARK monster from your GY to your hand. While you are intended to use it on Soleil or Lua, just having an in theme Legend Magician retrieval tool is very good and gives the Deck a lot more versatility than before.
We didn’t get a DARK Ranga Fusion in here. Presumably it is either because Konami couldn’t come up with a unique continuous effect (we already have a floodgate and on field protection), or because they fear what they have done with Altierra (so adding more floodgates on top of that would be awful). This is probably also why Divine Transformation only works on LIGHT monsters, as a way to prevent more degeneracy from the DARK side. I’m glad Galflare fulfills its unique role of disruption and recovery quite well – we already have a board breaker, a backrow remover, and the aforementioned protection and floodgate. Plus the Deck didn’t have any ways of interacting with your opponent’s GY before nor did they have a viable means of recovering their Fusion or Witnesses for following turns.
