Direct Driver comes with some nerfs and a single buff to avoid potential abuse.
First it can now only use its effect during the turn it is Normal Summoned. Before you could use it on any turn.
Second you are restricted to only selecting Level 4 Galaxy Effect monsters, no longer Level 4 or below Galaxy. In a theme that has multiple Level 2 and 3 monsters this is technically a debuff.
Third you can only attack twice the turn you use this effect, whereas the attack limit didn’t exist before.
The only buff is your opponent no longer needs to have a monster equipped with an Equip Spell.
Well, Konami made sure this Monster is less dependent on things on the Field at the cost of reducing its effectiveness/efficiency (it would have seen experimentation in several Galaxy Decks if it didn’t have those Nerfs)
That said, the most important Main Deck’s Moments are precisely Level 4 (Rainpale being an example)
