3 good cards, 3 great cards, and 1 meh card. I genuinely and don’t want to jinx it, might be the most promising as of recent, first wave of TCG archetypes (mitisurgi 1st wave might be arguable for equal or better is all)🙏

Reminds me of Appliancers. I like the goofy art. Not much to go off of deck-wise yet, but I’m hoping these cards will be good!

Okay Konami…will you create a trend after Mitsurugi of making good cards? Or will you do what you’ve done for years, where you give us a promising first wave and a disappointing finish? I hope for the former and prepare for the latter

i mean they have not always done bad tcg decks

BA and kozmo are proof of that

but it’s been a long time since them

You forgot gold pride/Danger/mimighoul off the top of my head.

      • HeraldOfOpera on June 16, 2025 9:27 pm

And Kaiju may be unplayable as a deck, but they’ve undeniably changed the landscape of the game in a major way.

      • HFIL on June 16, 2025 10:49 pm

Dedede which is why I said “for years”, not all time

      • HFIL on June 16, 2025 10:52 pm

Erudito Gold Pride wasn’t good. It just had synergy with PUNK. As I said earlier, “for years”, not all time. Danger came out 7 years ago. And Mimighoul, sure, I guess it was fine, but only in comparison to TCG exclusives. In a vacuum, it’s mid at best.

      • HFIL on June 16, 2025 10:55 pm

HeraldOfOpera Again, I said for years.

      • Atem91 on June 17, 2025 6:29 am

They also originally used to give 1 new power card to big archetypes which enhanced the decks massively like grandmaster of the six samurai, test tiger, allure, charge of the light brigade to just name a few.

    7. blair on June 16, 2025 6:15 pm

In what way is this what Meklord’s were

      • XXX-Saber Bottoms on June 16, 2025 9:18 pm

        Maybe they meant Mekknights

      • Unodostres on June 16, 2025 9:23 pm

I think they mean the anime mekklords where they where 5 parts that combined to make one big monster

      • blair on June 16, 2025 11:59 pm

im refering to what meklords were in the anime. basically 5 monsters that would effectively serve as one monster.

      • Boss-a-Nova on June 17, 2025 1:17 am

@unsaidmedia – Meklords in anime had a gimmick where they were composed of multiple parts that were separate monster cards. Rebel Bots are link monsters with additional “equipment” for them being main deck monsters. You summon additional parts to main monster zones that are linked to actual bots.

      • Yod on June 17, 2025 6:35 am

Im still hoping that we get a playable variant of the anime/vg version of the meklords, even if it is under a different name (the current meklord cards are junk anyways, so being compatible with them isnt important)

The deck is such a insanely fun concept, but sadly also so incredibly unplayable
from basically having to run at least 10 bricks in your deck, to only being able to play the deck after using 1 speccific annoying to trigger card, to only having one real play, to worst of all the second gimmic being both hyper speciffic yet rather useless

Most of the problems could be fixed with good support, but the “too many bricks” thing would need a complete rework of those cards

      • blair on June 17, 2025 4:36 pm

yod its not nessecarily unplayable. i havent confirmed this but in theory wouldnt it be possible to run an unchained meklord. by taking advantage of desroying your own cards wouldnt that trigger the meklord emporer’s summoning conditions?

      • Unsaidmedia on June 18, 2025 5:25 pm

If the only comparison between these guys and the Meklord’s are that they have main deck pieces “equipment” that is summoned to the link zones while the Meklord’s were all main deck pieces that were summoned by destroying their respective cores, I’m sorry, but that is such a weak comparison imo. I know how the Meklord’s function with that gimmick in the anime (as well as duel links if memory serves) which is why I was extra confused on the initial comparison between the two. The tenuous connection between the two themes really starts to fall apart the more you look and think about it.

    8. Duelist468 on June 16, 2025 6:22 pm

If this had more main deck monsters on launch, I’d be going for it pretty quickly. I like the ideas and the theme behind this archetype, but only having three main deck monsters feels extremely limiting for this first wave given the pop and swap playing style. Had it included just one more main deck monster, I think that could have helped. I know we’ll have a second wave of support (likely in Doom of Dimensions), but that’s a ways off. I’m still interested in this, and I’m willing to give it a try, I just hope to see more options for it in the future support.

It could be an engine for very specific strategies, but it’s nowhere near the level of Mitsurigi. This first wave pretty much sealed the deck’s future

Unless OCG provides it with support later or the second wave goes all out, for me it’s a meh, bordering on bad, archetype

      • HeraldOfOpera on June 16, 2025 9:29 pm

All future support needs to do is give a way for the existing EARTH Machine piles to use it.

      • HFIL on June 17, 2025 11:48 am

It, like most tcg exclusives, is a promising start and it is easy to see what it needs…time will tell if the second half follows through. It doesn’t need to be Mitsurugi, just not Tistina

This already works surprisingly well with Machina and general earth machine stuff. The lock prevents the big guys from showing, but you can still at least get Machina Citadel into rotation and since R.B. doesn’t needs its normal summon, you can just play Machina Gearframe, Machina Unclasspare and Machina Redeployment to get Citadel to the GY, which summons itself if one of the Ga10 monsters destroys itself.

Between this and Mal1ss I’m happy Konami is trying to actually make linking/pointing a relevant mechanic again. An unfortunately high number of modern ones just don’t care about it at all, despite being the core feature that makes them fundamentally interesting and distinct from the other summon methods.

i think what this needs most is some recycling….your sending your cards to grave an awful lot…so a trap that can shuffle one of your weapons into your deck and then give you a draw.

or perhaps a continues trap that prevents your main zone monsters from being targeted while your big bot is out….or mayby something that banks off of having several in the gravyard or lets you pop an extra card when one of your main monsters gets destroyed.

    29. Dakota on June 17, 2025 1:51 am

this seems like the kind of deck youd want to run pot of avarice and 3 coppies of the Drill and cutter in.
since that field spell replaces them..

Machine duplication might also be a good idea to get out multiple drillers to link up since they have 500 atk.
and Supply squad will be good since it gets you a free draw whenever your monster is destroyed (albeit, only OTP)

but still i cant help but feel that a Hard once per turn for thier destruction effects is a bit much….your arlready paying lifepoints AND they get destroyed in the process…it seems like your paying more than what your getting…they could at least have made them soft OTP instead.

as aways yugioh players suck at everything surrounding yugioh except for copyingdecklists and playing them on ladder. This archetype is gas, it gives any 2 machines an omni and destruction at the cost of a few bricks. now while this really isn’t a snake rain sort of deal where they can’t make good reptile decks, konami will likely be very careful with machine decks in the future.
