First Card Arts from Mega Road Pack 2

Because doing this fluff for Phoenix of the Roaring Flames was not annoying at all.

High Magic – Double Accel / High Magic – Double Acceleration

This is a card played by Yuga all the way back in episode 1 of SEVENS! Needless to say its way overdue.

Dragonic Force

A card played by Luke in episode 73. No relation to the Duel Links Structure Deck of the same name (I think).

Kakugo / Resolve

This is a sui generis card based on episode 24 (which is titled Resolve in Japanese), where Luke, Romin, and Gakuto simultaneously Duel 3 holograms of Otes. Dragias, Esperade, and Kimeruler were the monsters they used for the final blows.

Saikou no Riff (Colorful Light Riff) / Shining Superstar Riff

This one is a reference to episode 3, where Romin first plays Prima Guitarna in a Deck made of Yuga’s spare cards (remember the good old times when she claimed she had no interest in Dueling?), hence the conspicously non-Psychic monsters with her. Specifically, its a pun on her boast of being about to give Yuga the greatest riff (also pronounced “saikou no riff”) before riffing all over him.

Magician’s Sense

And finally this… truthfully, idk if this is a reference to anything specific, heh.

A man shrouded in darkness. The most reliable hypothesis is that he's a space pilot from another universe, forever marooned by way-less-fun laws of physics. His prodigious talent for reading Sunriseland Runes made him shine during the dreadful "2018 Christmas Incident". As an Italian, he's a fierce opposer to pineapple pizza and ashamed of Italian YGO.

Otes: THOSE are SEVENS’s references (to one of my Duels and a Deck that I use)?!

The new Dark Magician card is just a reference to DM getting new support in this pack.
The artworks are just teases of the main themes – a Yuga card, a Luke card, an anime reference to Romin, an anime reference to Gakuto (despite applying to all 3 characters Gakuto was the star of that duel), and DM.
I’m glad Double Magic – High Acceleration is finally being printed though – after 3 years.
