I always wondered why it was Goldion Hammer.
ALIN-JP066 械刀婪魔皇断[ゴルディオン・シュナイダー] Gordian Schneider
Normal Spell Card
This card’s activation and effect cannot be negated.
(1) At the start of your Main Phase: Target any number of face-up cards on the field; banish 1 card from your hand, or 6 from your Extra Deck, for every targeted card, face-down, then return the targeted cards to the hand.
Kanji: Mechanial Sword Forbidden Spell Imperial Slash
Notes on Name: This is a reference to the Gordian Knot, a legendary knot solved by Alexander the Great by him simply cutting through it with his sword. Schneider is German for “One who cuts”. The Gordian Knot is well known idiomatically as solving a very complex problem with what turns out to be a very simple brute force solution.

I can see this being good for Gren Maju Da Eiza beatdown.
It’s also sorta good for Maliss
Nope because Malice needs the cards face-up
or kashtira
No year of the snake card reveal?
Technically it doesn’t start until January 29. Hopefully we’ll get new Venom support in Duelist Advance.
It’s Year of the Snake in Japan already as they follow the Western Calendar.
Eepy Girl of Empty Extra Decks just got a new toy, cute.
This itself mills 12 cards from ED in exchange for spinning back to hand 2 cards. Clause locking it to beginning of MP1 may be bit unwieldy but it’s still very good card in Nemureria decks.
My bad, it’s start of any MP. It does not change a lot but eh, still cool
do you mean Nemleria?
It being both main phases could come up in some match-ups. It means you can either activate 2 in one turn, or if something goes wrong in the BP, clean up the board in MP2.
Can you banish a card both from hand and extra deck?
@Kinsey
As it does not say and/or, you must choose either the hand, OR the Extra Deck. You cannot mix and match.
Megazord with that?
Reminds me of Spiritualism, tho this seems more useful in most situations
Gren maju da eiza could use this, good point. They should make a whole structure deck or deck build pack for it. I’d love to see it supported fully.
This seems like a very strong side deck boardbreaker in hyper consistent decks and Tenpai.
This card is really good the more I read it.
Activation and effect cannot be negated. Works really well for archetypes that don’t use their Extra Deck. Can return your own face up cards back to the hand which means retrieving Continuous and Field Spells, letting you activate them again and getting a search off. Helps trigger the effects of other cards you control that activate when returned to the hand.
It can’t negated but it can be responded too so keep that in mind. Things can still dodge targeting these days.
Good for nekroz
We just need one starter and banish all other cards from hand to recover later with avance’s effect
But its banish face down, cant recover
This Card is So a Super Quantal(Power Ranger MegaZord Sword) or Magnum Overlord(Voltron) Weapon from the Maximum Summons but useful and very cool
they really want us to use dragon ruler or maliss huh? that’s just a perfect staple for them
scratch that, it says face-down lol
Steep cost, but heck of a board breaker.
New staple for any deck that doesn’t need/rely on it’s ED going 2nd. Even just banishing 6 to guarantee removal of a disrupt is good considering that’s about the same price you’d pay for a Pot.
There’s no downside besides not being usable in decks that spew out most of their ED onto the field
Reminds of Spiritualism from the Labyrinth of Nightmare days. Man, I’m old.
Wonder if this is a card hinting towards a new theme / archetype from an upcoming booster pack.
It’s the Schneider Cut!
I hate that you are right with that, and that might be a reference to that
As a german i hate the name of this card
All the other names which contain german words in yugioh (even the yubel cards which couldnt be any less gramatically correct) all sound 1000 times better than this
Also “Schneider” is the German word both for tailor and a certain harmess but large insect, so make of that what you will
Also also the more litteral german translation would be “Cutter” and not “one who cuts”, which actually sounds more fitting in the context of this card
Something about the sword’s design seems familiar to me, but I can’t quite figure it out.
