DBJH-JP005 星辰竜ムルル Dragon Tail Mulr
Level 3 DARK Dragon Effect Monster
ATK 1100
DEF 1500
You can only use the (1)st and (2)nd effects of this card’s name each once per turn.
(1) During the Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can Fusion Summon 1 “Dragon Tail” Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or field as material, also you cannot Special Summon from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Fusion Monsters.
(2) If this card is sent to the GY as material for a Fusion Summon: You can Set 1 “Dragon Tail” Spell/Trap from your Deck, then you can negate the effects of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls.
Note: This card was named after MUL.GIR.TAB, “The Scorpion” in Babylonian astronomy. It’s what most of us now would know as Scorpius.

card effects becoming more absurd as time passes lol
this game is on its way into imploding
it is by design
Not sure how this card is an example of the card game dieing but you do you man.
Ok but tbf this does nto seem as outlandish as for example what cartesia made in branded when their locks were legal. Right now format is in such a low power compared to tear, snake eyes that deck build pack decks like these can pass
still not as bs and generic as Tear at least
Konami usually saves what they believe is the best card for each DBP theme for last. It’s a tradition at this point.
Idk how to tell you this but this card is kinda mid,not even the 3rd best card in the archetype. Dragon tail itself probably won’t even be tier 3
How is this effect absurd? Seems pretty straightforward to me.
I think it’s great for going second, the only problem is when the entire archetype don’t have any restriction, and Dragon Tail have some restrictions. otherwise the game breaks because it will make the first turn board unbeatable. if people complain of fiendsmith, it’s because the deck have 0 restrictions. yummy have restrictions and that’s why I think it will be ok, even if it becomes one of the best decks.
P L A Y D R A G O N T A I L
WOW. Now that’s pushed. Monster negate and Fusion Summon on the opponent’s turn 1.
And a Set of a Spell/Trap, setting up your own turn 1. Jesus.
I misread it originally and thought it could activate its first effect in the hand. Still, this is crazy strong.
Would be cool if it was literally edge imp scythe
Bye Bye Babylon
@Dragnick3
I see you are a man of culture.
It’s a dark – finally branded can bridge into Dragontail lol
Why would they? Branded doesn’t need more bricks, the strength of the archetype isn’t in the end board it’s in the consistency and ability to keep playing on turn 3
because you can play Turn 0, get mirrorjade and a monster negate with hand in hand follow up
even with an engine you’re leaving this card out.
well maybe you can play it, also did you say that you will use the new tenyi cards in swordsoul? whatever the case is, when the deck is not the best deck, people who still play that deck use it however they want, and there is no need to explain why you do something, cause no one will copy it if it’s not the best deck.
Yeah, that’s pretty strong. No bones about it.
Idk what the fuss is about this card sucks ass. Dragon tails sucks stop being mad about the power of yugioh cards. Rose saying branded are stuck in the past that’s like me seeing the tearlaments archetype and saying “omg lights work support!?”
Those*
Lightsworn* screw auto correct man
That’s your opinion. I personaly find them ok.
I’m still waiting the new XYZ monsters from this Justice Hunters set…
This turns spheres pass with a monster in hand into a fair bit of interactions. More interesting than whatever floodgate usually gets run but necessitating a 2 main deck soft garnets and 2 ed slots makes it less appealing than the usual spheres targets
Being DARK, its Fusion material effect, and being easily searchable in theme makes it easier to include the Branded package.
Mulr also hints at other cards going forward. First, a Trap card featuring it on the artwork that has a modified version of its on Fusion Summon effect like the other two Dragons. Second, a Spellcaster counterpart (most likely LIGHT) representing Scorpio’s opposing constellation, Taurus. Third, a Fusion between them (likely also LIGHT). And fourth, a Spell card featuring the Spellcaster and has a modified version of its summon effect.
Personally I still wouldn’t play the Branded package since it’s ratio of playable cards and bricks seems too bad. But that might just be me.
Regarding your other points I really hope that the deck gets a way to recycle its spells and traps more than just with its traps. Something like that would make for a great secondary effect on a continuous spell. Or as cost on a disruptive effect of a fusion (like “(Quick Effect): place 1 “Dragon Tail” spell/trap from your GY on the bottom of your deck and target 1 card your opponent controls; shuffle it into the deck”.
Although that effect would powercreep Gramel, so it would have to be more specific to leave Gramel some room to exist in, so maybe give it the Mirrorjade restriction.
Prophecy support when? I’m tired of Dogmatika players absconding my spellbooks…
Spellbook is part of the next ocg stories arc, expect promos in vjump like, within the next financial quarter.
>card effects becoming more absurd as time passes lol
this game is on its way into imploding
And this is why the average Yugioh player should not touch card design or the banlist
This isn’t even close to most outrageous cards released from last year only.
Right? it’s like at best maybe the third or fourth most “outrageous” card in it’s own set and we haven’t even seen k9 yet.
Alchemy Beasts / New Order when?
Those would be in an animation chronicle and we just got one of those.
Did we get k-9 already?
No
Amazing to see Scorpio. This means that Taurus will be showed soon and the Fusion of both opposing signs. Cool.
welp we now have a bridge with branded fusion. was kinda hoping they wouldn’t make light or dark main deck monsters for the deck because straight to branded it goes.
Mid working mid. What horrors.
Sending this guy off bf really doesn’t do much for either deck. Both Branded Despia and DT are extremely hand heavy and the DT stuff doesn’t really do anything to bridge into branded. Cards that play well with branded need to do more for the deck than be a dark that makes lubellion off of branded fusion.
Like you make lubellion and then what? You can’t make albion because you don’t have a light, you can’t make a dragon tale off lubellion eff bc he can’t fuse from hand, so your best board off of it is like maybe mirrorjade and altherion to get fymena in hand, and maybe flame set. Decent but doesn’t play to the strengths of either deck nor alleviate the weaknesses of either.
My prediction for how the Dragon Tail archetype will go in the future:
1) covering the twelve of the Western Zodiac, each one will be a different level between 1 and 12, as we now already have levels 3-7 revealed to us.
2) with 12 Zodiac members, that comes down to 6 fusion monsters
3) Ophiuchus, the 13th Zodiac, will be a link monster. It not having a level/rank representing how it isn’t considered part of the actual Zodiac, even if it is somewhat a part of it, much like how the Eastern Zodiac does the same with the Cat. Likely Ophiuchus will act as either an end game boss, likely:
– needing at least 1 Dragon Tail fusion monster as Link Material (also likely Link-3 or higher)
– perhaps with an effect that empowers it based on the number of Dragon Tail monsters with different names in your GY
– and/or perhaps has some sort of either protection or destruction effect that requires you to tribute Dragon Tail monsters from either just the field, just your hand, or both in order to activate
Or with it acting as an extender, like a Link-1 or 2 monster that tributes itself to allow you to fusion summon a Dragon Tail monster by shuffling non-Link Dragon Tail monsters in the graveyard (likely with a limit) back into your deck
I can also see the level 9 or higher main deck Dragon Tail monsters as having an effect that lets them special summon from the graveyard, but only if
– They were used in the hand as material for the fusion summon of a Dragon Tail monster
– maybe some other limitation like, the Dragon Tail fusion that is summoned must be a lower level than the Dragon Tail monster for it to trigger?
