Woo, every deck is now gonna be $350 more expensive.
Welcome to a new Tier 0 format everybody
LMFAO
MOON IN THE FORMAT
FIENDSMITH IS REAL
1. Repetitive name, the name of repetition.
2. I knew Moon was gonna be with Feindsmith.
When will they be revealing that new theme they were teasing about that would be in this set that wasn’t in the OCG one?
“Dark Magician the Magician of Black Magic” absolutely horrible name 0/10
Wait so the spell card is called
“spell card monster reborn”
Its such a bad name but i love it.
The OCG name is literally Kuroki Majutsushi – Burakku Majishan. There’s little you can do to localize that.
@N – Yeah and it was reference to how in JP anime characters activated spell cards. It just makes no sense for western audience.
Something like “I Activate Monster Reborn!” (or “I Activate Spell Card – Monster Reborn” but that’s long.) would preserve the intended reference.
@N YGOrg translated it as Dark Magician the Ebon Sorcerer. Same meaning but way less redundant. This is just pure laziness from the localisation team.
It will sound even worse in some other languages, so…
@N it should’ve been “Magic Card” for better accuracy with the anime. No one said “Spell Card” in Duel Monsters.
Too bad, it would cause confusion with MTG lol, hence why it was renamed “spell card” to avoid confusion with MTG, I guess
Why didn’t they just call it “Activate Spell, Monster Reborn”? Not like we don’t already have “Attack the Moon!”
To be as close to the OCG as possible.
Attack the Moon! was also a TCG premiere card and given a completely different name in the OCG.
Game should just die at this point. It’s got a good run, but this business model is simply not sustainable if you want any kind of customer/player retention. Maybe it’ll send a message, but I doubt the knuckledragging boneheads at KoA will understand.
Go then no one will mourn you, leave and don’t you come back.
Gooby 🤧
If you don’t enjoy the game just leave.
Then why are you here?
I hear this “YGO ist dead” for decades now. Since the GX era. STON (Six Samurai), GLAS (Gladiator Beasts), LODT (Lightsworns) and then 5Ds, TDGS (Synchros) and so on.
Yeah, ok. Nowadays there are many more alternatives to Yu-Gi-Oh! with different and creative playing styles. This makes it harder for YGO and its cards in general. People compare more and may be used to something different.
The game may not have the same impact today as it did back then, but it won’t be truly “dead” either.
And it’s the same today as it was back then:
Everyone who does not like the way Konami goes with the card game, can quit or pause anytime. You are not forced to stay. In fact, this is the best way to show Konami that you don’t like the game anymore (and by not buying there YGO products).
Or create/play own formats. The Edison format seems to be becoming more and more popular.
Come on, continue to cry. Too difficult for you? Poor poor kid.
Leave and play Pokémon were you have to always have use the latest version of the card to play it
Real question…
Why tf are you even on here, if you hate YGO?
“Sengenjin Wakes from a Millennium” sounds kinda incomplete? Millenium on it’s own just means 1k years.
“Sengenjin Wakes After a Millennium” would be better, more logical name. Hell, “Sengenjin Wakes from a Millennium Sleep” is kinda mouthful but at least it makes actual sense.
The OCG name is Sengenjin Wakes from a Millennium Sleep, which is honestly a better name than what we got. But TCG names are usually shortened in the text box.
“from a Millennium” Typical tcg grotesque grammar
We have people screaming “Yu-Gi-Oh! is dead!” every other week and nothing is changing. “Unsustainable model” my butt, it’s the same for decades – now these cards will be 300+$ for whales to buy and in few months up to 2 years or so they will start reprinting power cards from this set for everyone else.
Sums it up in a nutshell really.
To be real, Yu-Gi-Oh has been pay to play for years. It’s been a combination of players overvaluing cards with Konami’s lackluster card design. Splashable engines generally make formats redundant in my opinion. Now they’re replacing Snake eyes with Fiendsmith. Which inherently just changes the issue and doesn’t resolve it. By the time these are reprinted they’ll be banned or the deck will be unplayable due to another overpowered engine/deck. Rinse and repeat. Problem with this is Yu-Gi-Oh only has one format. Making those $100+ cards paperweights if unplayable.
“waaah i cant afford the best deck in the game”. lol people like you really need to go away
Pretty good chance Soul Exchange will be a Rage of the Abyss import now.
“Dark Magician the Magician of Black Magic”
The redundancy of it all.
“Machinix”
When your character name is already taken so you just change random letter lol
More anime supports again?
