At a recent convention, Konami showed of one of their upcoming sets, “Maze of the Master”. At this time, the only easily identifiable cards are the card we’ve translated as “Earthbound Immortal Red Nova” and “Performage Trapeze High Magician”.
One of the artworks appears to heavily resemble Temple of the Kings, which would fit in with previous ‘Maze’ products featuring TCG World Premiere revamps of classic Duel Monsters themes, suggesting this Pack will feature a focus on Odion and his (Endless) Trap Hell strategy from the original manga/animated series, which was themed around the death traps of an ancient ruin.
There also seems to be an artwork referencing the false Winged Dragon of Ra that was basically it as a semi-amorphous firebird.
Also, the pack seems to suggest artworks from “Duelist Pack: Duelists of Brilliance” and “Animation Chronicle 2024”.

Could this be where some of animation chronicles be?
Animation Chronicle used to be covered in the Battles of Legends sets, but now they have shifted over to the Maze sets as of last year since it is a better fit (Maze is highlighted by world premiere cards from an anime theme).
Konami decided anime convergent cards are in the Maze sets now while Premium/Promotion Pack, Valuable Book EX, holiday box, and Terminal World are in the new BoL sets.
This should be where both AC and Duelist Pack cards are now.
Tachyon Primal, New Schwarzchild, New XHead, New XYZ, and Trapeze High Magician.

Wasn’t his ace monster Serket, the Egyptian Scorpion goddess?
His ace monster was Serket, yeah, but he’s more well-known for his Deck of mostly Traps. There’s a reason the Duel Links Skill associated with him is called “Endless Trap Hell”.
Considering they already retrained Apophis fairly recently, I am curious to see what monsters they might give Odion outside of a Serket retrain. Perhaps cards like the Tiki trap monsters that the video games like to give him?
More versions of Apophis, and some Anubis continuous trap monsters because of Judgement of Anubis.

They won’t be in here. Ever since these sets moved on to the Maze format, there has not been a single non-anime card in these sets.
Azalea, Engage Zero and Spectra will likely be imports in a future core booster or next year’s Battles of Legends.

Odion played a counterfeit copy of The Winged Dragon of Ra, which turned into a giant body of flame and struck him and Joey down for basically divine blasphemy.

What does Konami have against Bonz , Panik and Lumis/Umbra? They yet to get any retrains.
Probably a lack of recognisability. No one looks at Call of the Haunted and thinks “Hey, there’s that card used by Bonz”, and I don’t know about you, but I have completely forgotten the Lumis/Umbra duel.
You completely forgot a duel that took FOUR episodes of Kaiba and Yugi tag-team and the first full duel in which Kaiba summons Obelisk?
The opponents were the most forgettable bums of rare hunters i have ever seen. I dont even remember their boss monster. Odion is easily more recognisable
Forgetting a 3300 ATK monster that takes control of an opponent’s monster if it dies is weird. But you do you, I guess.

Yes one of the packs has Tachyon dragon and xyz dragon cannon on it.
I don’t get this “Maze” naming convention that the TCG keeps pushing. “Battles of Legend” made more sense.
It made sense when the first pack features new Gate Guardian support. But yeah I agree the Maze trademark naming has run it course.

TCG World Premiere sets (Toon Chaos, King’s Court, etc.) – Some Premium Pack and Promo cards and cards from abandoned products such as Structure Decks from the OCG. Combination of both anime and non-anime world premiere themes. Released at the middle of the year.
Current:
Battles of Legends – Premium/Promotion Pack and promo cards from boxes. Released at middle of the year.
Maze of – History Archive Collection, Animation Chronicle and now Duelist Pack. Only anime adjacent cards and world premiere themes. Released at beginning of the year.
Basically Animation Chronicle (anime cards) and Premium Pack (manga cards) are released in separate sets now where before they were combined along with world premieres and promos.
Another set of mid with a couple chase reprints at high rarity thus defeating the point.

No, as there are none of those located in Animation Chronicle 2024, and I don’t think Konami has ever released an anime-only archetype or card as a TCG-exclusive
How quickly you forgot all 15 anime cards from Zigfried’s deck that released as TCG exclusives. I wish they’d do more of that.

Cool cool actual Egyptian-themed traps finally. I had an idea where Temple had the extra perk of letting your reptiles that are also traps destroy something without damage calculation once per turn.
