The shiny dragon, the cursed artifact, and the cancelled vtubers
The previously announced Tactical-Try Decks for Ranked Duels are now live until June 30th (time zones applying). The following Loaner Decks are available:
Decisive Strike Cyber Dragon
“A “Cyber Dragon” Deck focused on offense. First, get ready to Fusion Summon with effects such as those of “Cyber Dragon Core” or “Cyberdark Chimera”. It can be surprisingly easy to gather the required materials because most “Cyber Dragon” monsters are treated as “Cyber Dragon” while on the filed or in the Graveyard, for instance “Cyber Dragon Core”. What’s more, monsters Fusion Summoned with “Power Bond” have higher ATK. Surge to victory in a single turn with overwhelming offensive force!”
Evil★Twin the Kaito Pair
“A devious “Evil★Twin” Deck revolving around link-ups between “Ki-sikil” and “Lil-la”. “Ki-sikil” and “Lil-la” monsters are the crux of this Deck, and they can Summon each other with their effects. Note that the Link Monsters “Evil★Twin Ki-sikil” and “Evil★Twin Lil-la” can each activate an additional effect if Special Summoned while you control their partner. “Evil★Twin’s Trouble Sunny” is a powerful trump card that can special Summon both at the same time, so make it your objective to Summon it. Flummox the opponent with your dazzling monsters and snatch away victory in style!”
Eldlich the Conqueror
“An “Eldlich” Deck that fights tenaciously with Trap Cards. Based around “Eldlich the Golden Lord”, “Eldlixir” cards can summon monsters, and “Golden Land” cards can act as interference. Get a good grasp of these effects to ensure you combine them effectively! Be careful not toe Set or activate cards recklessly. You’ll have to send a Trap or Spell Card to the Graveyard to activate the effects of “Eldlich the Golden Lord”, so it’s essential to hold back on occasion. Control the flow of battle to dominate the field and take victory!”
Note: The Eldlich Loaner Deck includes 2 copies of Pot of Extravagance, even though it is currently Limited.
Following the introduction of these Loaner Decks, the Secret Packs for each of the themes (Pearlescent Cyber Dragons, Electron Illusions, Immortal Royalty) will also be unlocked until June 30th (time zones applying), and until then, you can obtain 1 free pack from each.
Furthermore, Solo Mode Gates have been introduced for each Deck. Rather than focusing on the stories behind each theme, they are focused on practicing the use of the pre-built Decks. By completing each Gate, you can obtain 2 Legacy Pack Tickets and an Icon (for a total of 6 Tickets and 3 Icons):
Cyber Dragon Icon
“An Icon depicting a Cyber Dragon that captures victory by Fusion Summoning. It unleashes its ultimate attack, the Evolution Burst.”
Evil★Twin Ki-sikil & Lil-la Icon
“An Icon depicting a skillful thief duo. They appeared out of nowhere into the underworld’s global agent ranking.”
Eldlixir of White Destiny Icon
“An Icon depicting a gem of profound wisdom that emits a white radiance. It transforms by absorbing the desires of sacrifices offered to it.”

So Eldlich list is illegal and they allow you to play it in rank?
Yes, you can enter Ranked Duels using it, despite the two copies of Pot of Extravagance.
Nice use of words from Master Duel. I’d love to flummox my opponent.
I wonder if Konami intends to actually support these 3 decks later down the year, or if they expect/want new players to drop the deck cores and only keep the staples once they realize how bad these 3 really are.
In any case, these products are going to sell a lot because the general public is interested in the staples…but will they succeed in drawing fresh people to the game? I doubt so.
First, they should have picked slightly stronger archetypes. Rogue decks that have been supported recently or older decks that still manage to be consistent and solid, like Swordsoul for example. Cyber Dragon was terrible even pre-POTE and dies to a single interruption, while Eldlich is ludicrous in a post-Bystial world. They may be simply too frustrating and unforgiving for a new player.
Of course I am not suggesting that Konami should have picked 3 meta decks, just slightly stronger decks.
Luckily, the product’s value goes beyond the deck cores, thanks to the staples that players can recycle in new builds, so they don’t feel betrayed after they realize that they are losing due to the decks themselves, and not due to their lack of skill.
…Too bad the staples are also highly sought after by the general public, making access to these decks harder and costlier than it was supposed to be.
konami – makes trial deck for RANKED
also konami – nah you get TEN cards in the extradeck, not 15
