You know, for one of the most neglected types of Monsters in Rush Duels, Maguto’s Deck did receive the treatment worthy of Gods for his cards and related ones.
Basically:
– A new Boss Monster with a pretty good Effect that gives protection against Dark Hole and Mirror Forece (or similar cards)
– New ways to play with “Hydro Cannon Big Bluefin”, going from a useless Boss Monster to a more respectable/decent Boss Monster.
– Two Fusion Monsters with different roles, one of them even being an Anti-Maximum Deck.
– A own version of “Sevens Wonder Fusion” for WATER Fish.
– A versatile Trap Card with “Fish Depth Charge”.
Not bad for Rush Duels’s first official Fish Deck.
The package is already running out without many spaces to reveal.
– JP000 and JP002 remains a mystery. JP002 surprises me more since I thought one of Maguto’s Normal Monsters would be there, but that’s not the case (Are you perhaps another unknown Darkness Monster?)
– JP011 seems to be that Darkness Card related to Mitsuko. However, JP015 and JP024 are wild card options since they can go for any character (JP024 seems to be a Boss Monster).
– JP043 is a Fusion Monster, possibly Mitsuko’s Fusion Monster. JP049 is between Monster Fusion or Spell Card.
– There are still a handful of cards left for Spell/Trap Cards (Backrow). Maguto’s Deck didn’t cover much of that section.
While none of them are not ancient gear support, I do need to admit that these cards could be quite dangerous if they would ever be released in to the official game, might need some work done to make them work but, they do make me hath to Baw my head to these cards.
Maguto got the lion’s share of support in this pack, putting everyone else to shame.
Fish has the distinct niche of maintaining hand advantage while steadily drawing through their entire Deck, recovering their monsters and resetting their Fish Depth Charge, and gathering the necessary Fusion materials in the GY.
Tanegashimaguro got buffed. You no longer need to send a Fish vanilla as cost, and you can recover any Level 7 Fish or Wave Fusion as well. Onimaru Kunituna stayed the same. Neutron Bluefin had both a buff and a nerf; while you no longer need it to be the only monster on the field to attack directly now (provided you only have Fusions out), it can no longer negate the opponent’s monster effects. Since Continuous Effects don’t technically activate, they are still active (and nearly every Maximum in MM has one).
Surprisingly FDC isn’t a Legend, despite it being reworked to have almost the same requirement as Icarus Attack, though Konami readjusted FDC so you can only destroy a face up card now. Salvage being a Legend is not a surprise as it would be too overpowered otherwise.
Wave Fusion is Konami’s attempt of fixing the mistakes they made with Sevens Wonder Pile, meaning you have to earn the Fusion you have to summon. You can only Fusion Summon a WATER Fish monster (and these two are the only ones so far), neither Fusion has a shared material, you need 5+ monsters of this exact Type/Attribute combination in the GY to activate it, and neither Fusion is particularly board-breaking and each has a Continuous Effect that can be exploited by DGO.
Maguto has at least one unrevealed Spell in here based on set number, so it may be his Field Spell or something designed to make the deck even better.
These cards are cute for now, but I highly doubt their viability.
Fish Depth Charge is any card, sorry for the flub.
These unslots are taken by Fish Monsters. R.I.P Voidvelger and Space Yggdraco.
Frankly, Voidvelgr can afford to skip out a Core Booster for Rush. I think Zuwijo’s had something in each Core Booster since he debuted.
Space Yggdrago can also wait, I feel. Zaion Dueled after Tuna-person, and Fish needed the influx more than Cyberse, in my opinion.
I think he is referring to that Voidarve Fusion Monster that had Voidvelgr Pale Rider as Fusion Material. However, Voidarve does not seem to be a priority currently, despite being a fairly recurring Anime Deck in this Season 2.
About Zwijo, yes, it has gotten support for every package so far and was the cover on one of the initial packages. That being said, despite the favoritism given to DARK Galaxy in the packs, this does not carry over to the Anime, where Zwijo does not have many Duels (not even many cards from the packs appear in the Anime). Although this is common in Rush’s Animes, the main rivals do not take 2-3 Duels as happens with the Studio Gallop series.
I would say that, until now, only Yuhi has not had a pack focused on his Monsters, despite being the most developed character in GO RUSH. I mean, Yudias, Yuamu, Manabu and Zwijo have had a pack dedicated to their respective Monsters.
Hatou **Yuugou**, is correct? Itn’s “fyusion”???
