Was hoping for a searcher, but for spell cards, not monsters. Searching claw and equipping to new phoenix could have become a replacement for accesscode talker and could free up 2 extra deck slots, if not more. That could search circle and will, so fire lock wouldn’t be that much of a pain.
This is clearly not a normal summon because bufferlo is better, and as soon as you use this, parallel exceed, splash mage, masquerena and bagooska are off the table. Seems like something you would play 3 of, but i disagree.
So this is the play i guess. Send this to the graveyard with gazelle, reborn it with gryphon, search wheesel, make new phoenix and search rage or roar, then set it and gozen match. If you dont open gozen then send roar with gazelle, make new phoenix, search will, reborn 4, make pitknight earlie and masquerena and end on an omni negate and a monster negate plus draw after masquerena and phoenix make heatsoul.

Yep, Masquerena isn’t FIRE.
You can easily get to that point without fire locking yourself.
Again Konami giving us stuff we don’t need. WE NEED A F* NAME REPLACEMENT! So we can summo the extra deck monsters without summoning them twice and gain their effects!
That would go against the grain of the character whose Deck they’re trying to keep the flavor of.

there’s been a lot of hate for this card, as well as the new salad support cards. sure, this card doesn’t look impressive at first glance. but this feels like exactly what Salamangreat needed. a consistent one card combo starter that free’s up a lot of the resources needed to make raging phoenix initially. this also means that the deck is going to be way more consistent and the engine can be way more compact.
a lot of people keep saying that flame bufferlow is better or that lady debug is better but i have yet to see an actually argument as to why those cards would be better. neither flame bufferlow or lady debug give you access to a one card combo or provide you the dame advantage that Fire does. bufferlow doesn’t search out a salad card directly from the deck. and debug doesn’t trigger gazelle in any way for it to be worth running.
really to me it seems like what a lot of people are complaining about is the fact that it locks you into fire monsters. IMO, that’s the whole point of the new support. the deck previously has always relied on the use of floodgate or OTK tools like, bagooska, dweller, accesscode, update jammer, etc. these are not very fun cards to play or play against are also extremely boring because they completely strip the deck of what it was suppose to be in the first place(a mid rang so it makes a lot of sense that Konami would want to cut salamangreat off from those tools with this new support by giving the archetype a boss monster worth making as well as a coherent and consistent gameplan. and if that means that they dont get to play all of the annoying cards that took striped the deck of it’s originality in the first place. and i’m all for it.

No one its really a salad player, you just use access because its more powerful, i see, but for the original deck, maybe even budget, accesscode is not an option, these supports are kinda useful to bump up the original deck strenght, what you all are lamenting is the fact that you can’t mix it with the generic stuff making the deck meta. Anyway, salad was kinda dead before and now its less meh.
