As we reported just a few hours ago, a rules update was announced at the JUMP Festa, to be introduced in the OCG on April 1st, 2020. Now the same change has been announced for the TCG, to be introduced on the same date, via a video from the official channel.

As usual, we suggest you proceed to the official source, but if you don’t have access to the video right now, the short version is:
>You can place Fusion, Synchro and Xyz Monsters that you Summon from the Extra Deck in an Extra Monster Zone, OR a Main Monster Zone, even if it’s not being pointed to by a Link Monster.
>Link Monsters and Pendulum Monsters being Summoned from the Extra Deck still follow the current rule, where they must be placed in either the Extra Monster Zone, or a Main Monster Zone that is being pointed to by a Link Monster.
