this is more rival-ace coded, if anything. protagonist aces aren’t usually this good.

Anyway, indirectly, Over Rush Black Premium could confirm that we won’t have XYZ Summon in Rush Duels due to it causing frame issues (both are Black)
Speaking of the Dragon, it’s the first Level 9 Rush Duels exclusive that isn’t Fusion or Legend and has a simple, yet powerful Effect.
At first, I thought Rush was getting an XYZ monster, but honestly that’s the best ORR art I seen
Eternity Aether Dragon is the first Level 9 monster that is neither a Fusion nor a Legend, and its Level is quite intentional as Levels 7, 8, and 10 have much more dedicated support that would make Aether too easy to use. Level 7 has Ship and Level 7 turbo cards, Level 8 has Blue-Eyes, and Level 10 has the Heavenly package.
Though it is unsupported ordinarily and is somewhat reliant on Screwdriver, Hybridrive can at least make use of Lizard, Restruct, Scale, and Orbuster to more easily bring him out by Tribute.

A Black card!? And no one is talking about this!? This must mean something special… Only extra deck monsters get new card colors…..
It isn’t that good, it’s like they literally just print this card to show off the cool art and new rarity…..
Low cost for popping any card, but HOPT, and the worst part, only on the turn it is summoned…..and 2500/2000 is just standard stats, so pretty much the only notable thing about it, is it being a level 9 maindeck monster.
In Rush most removal requires set up and only removes specific cards – front row, back row, face up, face down, face up monsters of a specified Level, etc. For instance, Justiciar of the Dragon Stream shuffles back 4 monsters or another copy of herself in your GY just to pop a face down. Aether can destroy any card. Not face up, not face down. Any.
Most Rush cards that destroy any card require significant resources if generic (or get quickly limited if they do like Jest of the Cosmos Princess), specific resources if archetypal (Legend Slash needs a Legend card in hand to pitch), or attached to a hard to summon boss (Sevens Chariot needs 2 Level 7 materials). Aether only needs 2 monsters to Tribute off and a small LP cost.
Also notably, requirements and effects must be met simultaneously for a card to activate. Justiciar needs 4 monsters or a copy of herself each time you reuse her effect. Legend Slash needs a Legend Card, or an archetypal card treated as such. Aether only needs LP and can be used in any Deck, with its limit being a HOPT.
Aether is also Level 9, which has some modest protection against summon or destruction Traps that only affect Level 8 or below. Though admittedly it is less of a big deal now since generic destruction of face up monsters is more common.
I almost don’t like it’s black… It feels like it’s just black to sell cards.. it’s different.. wow.. but typically their colors have a purpose. Now it’s just a new rarity… That’s kinda mid.
Not only that, even the card itself is mid.
Like, wow, pop one card but only on the turn it is summoned. So strong *rolls eyes*
And 2500/2000 is just standard basic boss card stats, nothing notable.
It feels mid, but many cards in Rush Duel have more specifications to destroy a card. This card is way more free, and not even Legend.
