It’s a reference to the normal monster Earthbound Spirit which Bakura did use. Not Earthbound Immortals.
I’m well aware.
It’s that the name makes it Earthbound Servant/Immortal support by proxy.
Bakura used Zoma by his nam.
Actually judging by the art and the fact this is a set with Yugi Muto themed cards, it’s not based on Earthbound Spirit, but the trap card Call of the Earthbound which redirects attacks to another monster – the exact combo Bakura used in his duel against Yugi.
Eric has it right. The effect of Call of the Earthbound was weaved in as that was the combo.
Would be nice if we could just get the Necro deck already.
Its Japanese name is the actual “Earthbound” archetype (じばく and not アースバウンド), so there isn’t any issue to begin with.
This will go nicely with the Dark Necrofear figure coming out this spring.
Is max 3000 the damage the opponent can take or the maximum atk of the destroying monster (so 6k damage)?
its the amounth of damage
Sp by max 3000 does that mean max 3000 damage or max 3000 attack
I guess it’s the damage for 2 reasons: it’s the subject in the sentence, and logic (Konami would not print something that can do 6000 damage so easily, especially after Gandora-X’s erratum).
It’s to not make OG Zoma obsolete or cylinder mostly obsolete.
Fortunately so far it seems that all Earthbound support specifies it has to be monsters, which this card isn’t whilst in the hand or deck so it shouldn’t get the Frog the Jam treatment.
Interesting. A generally more Anime-accurate take on Zoma the Spirit, that comes prepackaged with an effect that’ll force an opponent to attack into it to boot. Nice that they decided to print this retrain in the same product as little-Yugi’s retrained end-of-show Deck.
Is this a hard once per turn, or only 1 effect once per turn?
Hard once per turn for each effect; otherwise, it would say something like “You can only use 1 among these effects”.
While I do agree with you, this specific translation uses the word ‘either’, that’s why I’m hoping for an answer from the translator themselves for clarification.
It’s “You can only use each effect of [] once per turn”.
Somehow I knew we would get a retrain of this card, but I expected it a lot earlier during the reveal cycle.
Oh neat it’s manga/anime Zoma, sort of. I say sort of because Jonouchi no longer gets OTKed by Panther Warrior destroying it.
Considering Gandora initially debuted in Yugi’s duel against Yami Bakura in the last season, I think it makes sense for there to be some Bakura cards in this pack. This looks like fun.
So it’s Magical Cylinder but worse? Got it, Konami is printing 2003 level cards in this set.
Cylinder doesn’t have the option to be used as a monster. This isn’t a case of Draco-Utopian Aura and Pulling the Rug where the former’s text is strictly superior to the latter’s.
