A famous Baseball Athlete’s pet gets immortalized as a Yu-GI-Oh! card!
DKPN-JP001 デコピン Dekopin [Decoy]
Level 1 LIGHT Beast Normal Monster
ATK 50
DEF 50
(An angel of happiness that descends on the sacred mound. It’s said that he lands along with his partner in order to perform a special ritual known as the Ceremonial First Pitch. After charming everyone with its elegant coat of fur and its cute appearance, he finishes the ritual with a high five.
The SHOTIME along with his partner will go on–.)
Note: This card is a collab between Ohtani Shohei’s pet dog Dekopin (known by most English speakers as Decoy) and Yu-Gi-Oh! It was revealed today on Ohtani’s Instagram.
At current, the card is one-of-a-kind.

New target for primite yummy
Primite WHAT
Explain to me how any of this is related.
only one copy bruh
yummy utilizes level 1 light beast non-tuners
literally custom for primite yummy lmao, now you dont have to play bunilla or ojama green
First Gura for LA Dodgers, and now YGO for LA Dodgers. Sweet
Good god this card gonna be expensive af because of the Scalpers
It’s one of a kind. The owner (I would imagine Ohtani) has full control of the price.
Kinda like Tyler the Great Warrior? That’s unfortunate. But I guess you can always make proxies.
It is also the best normal for yummy primte
So cute!
Now batting for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Ohtani The Tormenter!
I would love to see an archetype around this card. For no other reason than the fact I get to see more cute stuff like it.
What a good, perfect boy!
The effect should be that any player that tries to attack this card will be immediately executed
Nah, treat it like Zushin’s summon condition. Have Decoy stay on the field for 9 turns, then on your 9th turn after you summon this monster, you can sacrifice Decoy to Special Summon Ohtani The Shogun of the Ballpark from your hand, deck, or graveyard. If Decoy is the 9th card you play in the duel, then reduce the countdown to summon Ohtani down to 6 turns.
dang ol’…awww
wtf
Magic: We have a crossover with Final Fantasy.
Yugioh: Dog.
Yu-Gi-Oh: better choice.
Yu-Gi-Oh: our crossovers mean something because we don’t crossover with everything.
Yugioh already has Castlevania and Gradius references.
plus we also have star wars and the wizard of oz
Don’t forget Metal Gear Solid (See the card, Tactical Espionage Expert).
Metal gear, castlevania and kozmo are references. Not crossovers.
Meanwhile you have magic crossing over with spongebob
Well, MTG x Sonic the Hedgehog collab announced.
Oh yeah, Konami also has some random nameless guy with a whip and no artist name.
I just remembered; what about Getsu Fuhma, Vic Viper and Goe Goe the Gallant Ninja? Would they count as crossovers or references?
“There’s nothing in the rules that says a dog can’t be a Yu-Gi-Oh Monster.”
I had a dollar for every one-of-a-kind card with with a heartwarming story behind it, I’d have two dollars and I still wouldn’t be able to afford a Cherry Coke from the break room vending machine
I get this is a one off and all but what’s the reasoning for that weird attack/defense spread? Is his dog 50 years old or something?
I believe it is because that is the year Shohei Ohtani was the first baseball player to hit over 50 homeruns and steal over 50 bases in the same season. They just rounded down to 50 because he didn’t break the 60 mark on those metrics.
Sounds about right for best boy. It’s not like we’re going to give more than 100 atk to a normal guy with a guitar- uhhh
Should have made it an effect monster
Why there will only ever be one copy out in the world
It takes 16 Decoys to beat a normal guy with a guitar. It takes 60 to beat the legendary Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
