Springtime for Branded; Winter for Droll & Lock Bird.
“Severe Performance Outliers”
This is the stuff that has over performed. Dracotail and “Droll & Lock Bird” are cited as problem children.
“Deck Destruction / Attack The Deck”
Runick
Hecahands Gaigas
Hecahands Xeno
Kewl Tune Clip
Kewl Tune Cue
“Cards That Multiply Excessively”
Dodododo Warrior is cited as the poster child for this problem category.
“Cards That Insulate Turn 1 Boards”
Crossout Designator and Traptrix Rafflesia are cited as examples of cards allowing you to force through Turn 1 Combos. Basically it’s cited cards that are considered to be counters-to-counters should be priced above the counters.
“Towers”
(i.e. Qliphort Towers is the origin of the name but it is jargon that refers to any monster immune to other cards).
Lunalight Liger Dancer and Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus will be increased in cost so you can use them… but you lose more generic support cards.
“Extra Deck Monsters That Get You Another Cards”
Cards like Gagagaga Girl and Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity that summon or obtain another cards
“Themes That Underperformed”
Dragonmaid
Swordsoul
Tenyi
Snake-Eye
Ninjas
Possibly Centur-Ion and Six Samurai
“Re-Weighting Various Current Points”
Rite of Aramasir and Enchantress of the Temple versus the high spec Wandering Gryphon Rider. Gladiator Beasts and Crystrons.
Also Branded. The Fallen & The Virtuous did not turn out to be the high use generic power card R&D expected, so it’ll be rejiggered to allow 1 to 2 of the card while allowing players to play their Extra Deck.
“Housekeeping of Generics”
Various generics that no one uses at their current value will drop down in cost.
Next Update will be timed to happen around the release of Burst Protocol.
Also it is noted a lot of this up and down bouncing is a result of early days and that things will stabilize and be driven by more hard usage data over time.

Rhongo better count as towers
Even Konami knows that Links ruined the game 😂.
ya realize this is tcg only right
It’s the same company behind the game. Being TCG-only has no relevance to the point. There is no secondary company in charge of the TCG. That ended once Upperdeck was removed from Yu-Gi-Oh wholsale.
Just as we can’t solely blame all the bad decisions made here on the imaginary Mr. TCG guy, we also can’t definitively claim that the OCG is the one calling the shots here
What is clear and has been consistently demonstrated over time is that the OCG and TCG have very different approaches to the game. Whether this is a deliberate decision by the Yu-Gi-Oh IP as a whole or simply the result of two teams working on different branches of the game remains to be seen
Actually a bit wrong. Konami of Japan took control of this kind of stuff. They’ve been responsible for the lists for ages now. That’s why they’re(timing of the lists) completely random in the TCG essentially. It’s gotta be based upon all the current product being released, and that has far more delays than the OCG ever did, which can affect the timing of said lists too. That’s why the previous one(that banned King of the Feral Imps) took so long. They had to sell the product with it a bit first.
But yeah, it’s still basically an OCG thing. In addition, and somewhat notably, that’s why the lists are radically different anyway. You don’t need a special branch to handle TCG lists. All you have to do is basic research to see how you should handle it. Including product, cards you don’t want used as often, etc. Konami has easy access to data for how they make lists to begin with, regardless of what region the main branch is in. So it’s not like it’s some special factor to take into account.
And yes, this didn’t have Links simply because Konami realized they created a huge power imbalance and created a new format for fun. It’s not really that odd. It’s easier to do than Rush Duels, which requires completely different product, but it does have a much lower power ceiling to begin with, and the constant balance changes via a monthly list help accomplish that goal. Seeing as how we have lots of information on how they go about it… it’s very clear the format is rather popular enough, so it’s not like that issue ever existed(yes, a lot called doom on it. They were wrong).
Rush Duel is not a format, it’s an entirely different game, dear.
With the exception of the Upperdeck case, everything you’ve mentioned so far is supported by circumstantial evidence, which brings the discussion back to my original comment
And when I talk about approaches, I’m referring to the administrative level, which by extension includes the banlist but isn’t limited to just that point
Justice 4 Zarc ✊️.
Ey what about ancient gear? No reason that deck should still be hit into the ground like that.
Gladiator Beasts still more playable in Advanved than in “pet decks can compete” format.
“We’re going to hit a deck before it’s even playable” is exactly why I can’t stand this format. Like they directly admit that that doesn’t work and then do it again anyways.
bruh it’s a format with different carpool, and you are wrong, they hit a new archetype so that it can’t be played with specific cards, and that’s the purpose of the point list
Finally they realized that Swordsoul without Link and with every other card heavily hit is unplayable!
How was it even popular internally? Someone must have loved it to death, or liked to lose…
Or is really good at piloting the Deck.
bro you still new? when someone top with a deck, net-deckers copy his deck, that’s why they make so many misplays
Still no pend…
Too much text intimidates the North Americans.
Why are some people saying Link monsters are a problem? I don’t understand. I think our current banlist is really good besides limiting floodgates to 1 such as Deck Lock and others of the like. My only complaint is the we used to have 4 structure decks a year, at least 1 starter deck a year, and now we’re fortunate if we get 1. Also I’d love to see more “Good” support for older themes more then introducing newer ones. Remember what they did to ice berrier structure deck.
I play dinosaurs 🦖, I love that deck, and I incorporate links such as linkuriboh and generic link 2 monsters to run it. In Genesys I can’t run it that way, I’d have to run an entirely different structure for it. I don’t even think Pendulums are a problem either.
Some people like Edison, but to be honest 2017 and 2018 we’re the best years playing this game. Just my opinion. I’m glad synchros, fusions and xyz are off the master rule 4.
