CDP: Shining Sarcophagus Melodious Kashtira

Strategic Summary:

Today’s CDP features my return to the Shining Sarcophagus theme, this time introducing a few new engines to the deck. I’ve covered this strategy a lot in the past, so be sure to check out the Archetype Archive to see my other variants! That said, this deck revolves around the Continuous Spell Shining Sarcophagus, using it to establish a field of Main Deck monsters with disruptive effects that can cause an opponent to think twice before attempting to push through your board. With Future Silence, Gadget Trio, and the Ties That Bind, it is extremely consistent, but what if we had a way to make it even more consistent? That’s where Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack comes in. You see, Dracossack can make 2 Machine tokens at the drop of a hat, and if you turn those 2 tokens into Platinum Gadget, then use Dracossack’s other effect to destroy said Platinum, it will allow you to summon Trio straight out of the deck, even if you didn’t have another Shining Sarcophagus starter! So I started thinking, what would be the best way to make a R7NK monster, and landed on both the Melodious and Kashtira archetypes, hence this deck!

As far as the Melodious engine, this easily puts 2 Level 7 monsters – and more – onto the board, even without using your Normal Summon! All you need is Ostinato, and you can quickly amass an insurmountable lead in card advantage, that then spirals into even more once you combo into the Shining Sarcophagus stuff. On the other hand, both Kashtira Unicorn and Kashtira Fenrir can add additional disruptive pressure to the opponent, expanding upon the natural tendencies of the Shining Sarcophagus cards. This deck may seem like a one-trick pony at first, but I really have grown to enjoy just how much versatility the Shining Sarcophagus theme offers, so I hope you enjoy the build!
