Less FTK-driven, but loving the free advantage.

Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for another CDP, and today I’m back to covering the new Gem-Knight Support in Terminal World 2. If you missed my first pass on the new support cards, be sure to check it out here alongside the Volcanic and Primite themes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nlvUNuXm5I
Now that you’ve found your way back here, let’s talk about the pairing of Horus with the Gem-Knight cards. The Horus archetype consists of Level 8 monsters that primarily are able to Special Summon themselves from the hand when King’s Sarcophagus or Walls of Imperial Tomb are on the Field. Additionally, each grants you advantage whenever another card leaves the field. For example, Imsety, Glory of Horus sends another card on the field to the GY when that happens. Now the struggle for a ‘pure’ Horus deck is that it takes a lot of resources to get all of your Horus monsters into the GY. The Gem-Knight archetype turns that struggle into yet another way to trigger your effects. Not only do Gem-Knight Nepyrim (YGOrg Translation) and Gem-Knight Obsidian trigger when sent to the GY for King’s Sarcophagus, but you also have the endless recursion of Gem-Knight Fusion to keep sending and recovering to meet that challenge.
Outside of this fun interaction, the Gem-Knight monsters certainly offer enough bang for their buck now led by Gem-Knight Master Diamond Dispersion (YGOrg Translation) . However, you can also turn to generic Rock options searched out of the deck with Gallant Granite, since we don’t care too much about halving Effect Damage compared to FTK-driven Gem-Knight builds. In particular, Nepyrim and Gem-Armadillo combine quite effectively to keep building advantage, while leading into a Gallant search. Inherently, this line of play leads into solid boards where your opponent is forced to rely on wide boardwipes, setting the stage for Horus the Black Flame Deity to descend from the hand to wipe away all of your opponent’s progress. If that isn’t quite enough, Nibiru, the Primal Being and Thelia, the Primal Being are just a Gallant search away from waiting in the wings for a double ‘boom’! Hope you enjoy this hybrid build, and be sure to check back to see the other TW02 profiles dropping this month.
