Ghoti, back with new support.

Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP attempts to take the Ghoti in a different direct than I had previously – what if you trimmed out the fat, and ran a streamlined build centered around the Ghoti cards that really matter. The problem is, when you do that, you just don’t have enough cards to fill out a 40-card deck, so I went searching for a suitable supplemental engine, and ended up with the Rescue-ACE. If you want to read more about the Ghoti and how Psiics, Moonlight of the Ghoti (YGOrg Translation) and Kiif, Haze of the Ghoti (YGOrg Translation)really improve the deck, I’ll direct you to my prior profile combining the Ghoti and White Aura archetypes together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hp2zPigk1go
Now that you’re back on track, let’s talk about the merits of this Rescue-ACE engine. The normal Rescue-ACE strategy takes full advantage of Rescue-ACE Turbulence and all of their Spell/Trap support, but today, I’ve carved it down to just a few key monsters. The real reason for their inclusion – augmenting the interaction that the Ghoti can have during the opponent’s turn, with a full suite of monsters geared to do exactly that. You see, Rescue-ACE Impulse can be tributed from your hand or field whenever your opponent activates a monster effect on the field, Special Summoning a Machine Rescue-ACE from your deck. In terms of options, you can grab Rescue-ACE Fire Attacker, to draw an additional 2 cards and discard 1 when the opponent adds a card to hand via card effect, you can grab Rescue-ACE Fire Engine, to Special Summon a Rescue-ACE monster when your opponent Special Summons, or you can grab Rescue-ACE Preventer, which can flip an opponent’s monster face-down. These Rescue-ACE Machines also happen to be great Levels for Synchro plays, as your Ghoti Tuners can join with either Preventer (a Level 8) or Attacker (a Level 6) to make either of your Ghoti boss Synchro monsters during the opponent’s turn. Also, with such a streamlined Ghoti build, you don’t really have to use the Normal Summon all that often once you start banishing your Fish monsters, so you can use that Normal Summon to bring out Rescue-ACE Hydrant to begin tutoring a Rescue-ACE monster each turn. This may seem like a weird hybrid, and it really is, but hopefully you enjoy seeing these two archetypes come together in a fury of fire and water. Catch you next time, and don’t forget to stop, drop, roll, then swim!
