Note: Yes, “Harpie Carla” really should be “Harpie Cara” and I’ll be referring to it as such going forward.

We will never get new harpies outside of rush duel because everyone outside of japan is afraid of women….
I mean there was that one misprint where a RDS copy of Harpie Girl was uncensored. I’m sure many players were scarred because of that one error lol.

Nah it’s because of Harpie’s Feather Storm. Card is broken.
Rush Duels giving Harpies tons of Fusion monsters and yet the OCG doesn’t have one. Hopefully in the next wave of support we’ll finally get one.
Hopefully they’ll make sure to keep fusion far away from Harpies in the OCG and focus on the other mechanics that actually make sense for them.
Harpies already have a Synchro and Xyz in the OCG. Giving them a Fusion isn’t out of the question
I mean, eventually, I’m sure Harpies will have new supports for OCG/TCG, but the question is when? I hope it doesn’t take long to have support.

That eXceed larping as a synchro makes a lot of sense, sure, sure. Making sense would be working similar to Gradius’ Option. You should be able to create a token(s) that’s a copy of Harpie Lady and any permanents, including equipment, affecting it.
OCG NOTHING
A rank 7 for Harpies would be nice.
With Harpie getting support in RD does that call off any chances of the archetype getting and new cards in the TCG or?
The one does not affect the chances of the other getting support.
At least now there’s a reason to use Harpie Cara on Turn 1 or with more copies in the Deck.
Apparently, Rush’s Harpie has confirmed that it has another Contact Fusion Monster with this reveal.

The Harpie Deck ends up being a significantly better value than the Chimeratech Deck so far. At least 5, but possibly 7, Contact Fusions with relatively generic materials that can make proper use of the minor Harpies such as Cara and to a lesser extent Regina (who can help set up Feather Duster).
I am also shocked this isn’t a Cielo Contact Fusion, since Cara Charming Dress and her both mill for 3, though I suspect it’s because Konami doesn’t want a miller to go into another miller so easily. Cielo isn’t even in the SD as far as we know, so Cara is here as a much easier to use mill. She sets up Hysteric, Egotist, Slash, the center Harpie Lady Sisters Maximum, Trick Pigeon, and Tempest, who all need monsters in the GY and the Deck didn’t have a solid miller until now. Though the Harpie Lady 1/2/3, Duster, and Pet Master can also mill, Cara can mill more. Though she can’t treat herself as Harpie Lady or Sisters, so she is barred from their exclusive support such as Full Dress, she isn’t excluded from TES and Hysteric Party. She also cannot be used as Fusion material for 2 of the other Contacts, which I suspect is something that will be consistent going forward.
The ATK reduction is only there if you go the traditional Fusion route, which the Deck doesn’t really need since they can get really big on their own and they don’t have any real support for Fusion Spells. Otherwise, Cara and Girl are the only Level 2s the Deck could play if you Contact, and both are very niche outside of being a Fusion material.
This Cara fusion, and two of the new Contact Fusions (Harpy Lady 2 & 3, Harpy Lady Sisters TB), all incentivize including multiples of Cara because they’re no longer “dead” cards without a Full Dress in the GY.
2-of Cara was already common before because Full Dress is/was such an important card for their deck because the deck tended to heavily rely on attack power increases and Pet Master to break through boss monsters. All of these Contact Fusions are amazing in terms of design because they severely reduce the possibility of “dead hands”. You have a lot more agency as a Harpy pilot post-structure deck with these ED options, which is incredibly powerful.
Now, a Cara in hand with random harpies can at worst fuse into a Harpy Lady 2 & 3 whose 2600 attack is the equivalent of a Harpy Lady Sisters with its effect activated on itself. Not bad at all.
Whoops, I just remembered Harpy Lady 2 & 3 requires Harpy Lady 2 at minimum. So Cara is still a little bricky in an opening hand, but going into this fusion does at least help setup your GY for Hysteric Party and Egotist.
Cara + 1 winged beast + Hysteric Party + 2 other cards is a pretty decent low bar for a hand since Contact Fusion Cara can likely mill into reanimation targets for Hysteric Party on your opponent’s draw. Not counting as a Harpy Lady for enabling Egotist is too bad, but I guess that might be too strong as a 2-card combo.

I’m very excited to see Harpies get new support while it’s bittersweet experience. At least rush duel is doing them justice. Ocg and tcg need to do so much better.
