Bonfire lit. Now I have a pretty woman in a bodysuit.
I wonder what extra deck type theyre gonna have in the next wave
a link at most this seems like a non extra based deck
Jonas you say that but they gave Beetrooper a Link Summon deck a fusion monster and Tistinia a deck with 2 main deck level 10 monsters a Rank 10 xyz.
Can we get a Hispanic or African theme for once?
Memento was pretty recent as a Pre-hispanic South american theme.
Memento is a pretty recent addition to the Pre-hispanic South american themes.
No, stop trying to force inclusion into everything. The game is fantasy. It doesn’t need representation.
Says the Mermaid, who has Mermail AND Tearlament representation
The brainlet really went: uUuUuUhHh!!1! iNcLuSiOn11! 🤡
Memento is a Hispanic archetype, and a lot of Egyptian archetypes exists.
can you shut up for once?

POV: Your lobotomy operation was successful.
There’s a bit more potential here than the last few World Premiere themes, but it’s still incomplete. So many choke points and a bit underpowered, but the next wave should fix some of it.
We said about Beetrooper and Tistinia too, and look what happened.
I had to read the cards a few times but I think i understand what the gameplan for the deck is. Either open or search Awakening of Veidos, activate it to put the field spell on the opponent’s field and search Veidos. Activate Veidos target the field spell to summon it to the opponent’s field, pop field spell, and activate the trap. Field spell effect in graveyard to special summon King from deck. King effect special summon Hero. On opponent’s turn use Hero pop Veidos, activate field spell, and boardwipe. On your next turn activate field spell draw, then activate trap to return Veidos to hand. Repeat.
I like the concept, not sure how good/competitive it will be, but the idea of a repeating narrative that you act out with the cards is pretty cool.
Just realised you can’t search the quickplay. Why, Konami? Why?
You can’t summon from deck the turn you use the quickplay. So no.
You cannot summon from Deck(s) EXCEPT Pyro.
Also, you don’t need to wait next turn to use Hero, you can do that again right away if you want the draw, as the trap will recycle Veidos anyhow.
The quick-play is a ridiculous full combo by itself, +3 on its own.
As I saw in another post….. IT’S PYROVER!
Shut up, Bruno.
Anyone else getting some major Dark Soul vibes from these new cards? Which is totally awesome and would absolutely make my day.
Yeah, it has crossed my mind…
Just you dog, maybe you’re seeing things
Definitely came to mind
Honestly, it reminds me of Pompeii a bit.
usual TCG-Premiere-Syndrome of being obviously unfinished and needing its second wave but the cards look cool and their gameplan is unique
let’s just hope the second wave is on the level of Gold Pride and not Tistina
Okay, so th most basic play is certainly:
>Play Obsidim
>Play Veidos to opponent’s field, popping your Obsidim
>Obsidim effect summons Priestess or King from Deck
>Summon Hero with either the one you added with Priestess or by the effect of King
>Hero pops Veidos, which gets you another copy of Obsidim in the Field Zone, enabling it’s End Phase recycle another copy of itself + draw 1
>If you did not summon Priestess prior, and you have one in hand, you can get the trap, which recycles Veidos and allows you to do cute stuff during opp turn
This ain’t much of a deck as it is some kind of engine right now. What kind of engine? Well, if you did not use the quickie, then it’s 2 mats for link summoning, a cute trap that reduces ATK if you wanna get Veidos back during opp turn, a Field Spell that will summon another one of your guys during opponent’s turn when you summon Veidos you hopefully managed to add back with the trap, and then if everything goes south you have the almost quite literal nuclear option of popping Veidos and destroying all monsters on board, which may also happen if your opponent tries to link it off or do anything else that might send it to GY. Seems decent, I guess. Not as an engine to be put in a variety of decks, but as a pseudo-engine as its own thing, since you need quite a bunch of cards for this to work out properly. So you play it along other stuff that may support this, like Fire Kings, as they wanna be destroyed, and Veidos does just that. The deck can be developed to be quite neat, but Konami TCG is gonna Konami TCG and this is just an appetizer, rather than a full deck. Gotta wait for the second wave! Hopefully the support is good!… How annoying.
I was hoping this could promote some counterplay with Rank 9’s, then I read the Trap Card, and the hope went away.
in Veidos we trust
I don’t even care how good or bad these cards are, I love them for the ascetic alone. The gameplay these bring is also somewhat unique and its nice to see a Pyro archetype. Will absolutely be building this!
I quite like the biblical story of these cards, they give me the same nostalgia as the D/Ds, I hope we get more cards like these to extend their story and play options.
ITS JACK, QUEEN, KING with their own Osiris
“PHNI-EN092 Hero of the Ashened City
Level 7 FIRE Pyro Effect Monster”
my man is clearly a dark monster
Whatever gets Konami to release Greiger’s manga cards and a new wave of Neo Flamvells.
Being DARK theme it definitely won’t do anything for the crippling representation For FIRE in both fusions and Ritual
Awesome art and theme and unique play style. But somewhat lacking in the completeness and power department, as per usual for a TCG archetype.
I mean…it is literally incomplete. The other half is in the next set
Kek these are as bad as kaijus if they didn’t happen to be generic removals
Another TCG-original archetype that seems like it will revolve around Lv 5+ monsters
Farewell Ashen one… may the flame guide you!
Oh sweet, a Dark Souls archetype. So who’s gonna be that first boss guy? And where’s the twin humanities?
I don’t see this as some sort of good deck, the rest 7 cards gonna decide that
And those cards seems like trying to say players to use Skill Drain and do unga bunga strategy
i hope the next wave makes it easier to search veidos and gives us a continuous trap that actually does something
Something like 15 years ago I had an idea for a coffee-themed Dark pyro cards, close enough
The saga of TCG-original pack filler archetypes continues.
Insert reasons here.
So many comments about a Dark Souls archetype, but we all know its based on Pompeii right? Ashen City… Veidos emerging from a volcano and being summoned to the opponent’s field, destroying all monsters…
You know it can be more than one thing, right?
I get why they release new stuff like this in booster backs, but I kind of wish we were getting these Ashened cards via a structure deck.
