Serpents with Swords, Magical Hats, Giant Transforming Slimes, we’ve got it all…

LINK-2 LIGHT Illusion Link Effect Monster
ATK 1500
Links: Bottom-Left; Bottom-Right
Materials: 2 Effect Monsters
You can only use the (1)st and (3)rd effects of this card’s name each once per turn.
(1) If this card is Link Summoned: You can Set 1 Continuous Trap directly from your Deck that has an effect that Special Summons itself as a monster, also this card cannot be used as Link Material this turn.
(2) If this card battles a monster, neither can be destroyed by that battle.
(3) If a card(s) in the Spell & Trap Zone is Special Summoned to the Monster Zone: You can target 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls; destroy it.
Note: 影法師 means literally Silhouette or Shadow Figure, and is usually read as Kageboushi. We think it’s also alluding to 方士 (An ancient Chinese sorcerer) or 法師 (A Buddhist Priest), but considering it’s literally a stage magician, Magician works better.

Continuous Trap Card
You can only activate a card with this card’s name once per turn.
(1) Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (Illusion/DARK/Level 4/ATK 1500/DEF 600) with these effects (it is also still a Trap).
● If it is Special Summoned: You can target face-up cards your opponent controls up to the number of Illusion monsters you control; negate their effects until the end of this turn.
● If this card battles a monster, neither can be destroyed by that battle.
Note: Silhouette like above but the Boushi here is 帽子 (hat).

Only interesting thing is that you can convert any 2 effect monsters into 1-2 Illusion materials for non link play.
I was going to say that in a continuous trap deck there isn’t much room for illusion monsters but considering you can negate anything as long as it’s face up it sounds pretty balanced
Also: Konami stops being a simp and allows continuous traps to activate on the turn they are set. This link was the perfect opportunity for it
Can paleozoic do something with this?
@LucaZERO They’re not Continuous Traps.
Lucas, yes. If they are summoned, you can pop a S/T. Other than that, no.
LogicBomb: Read again. They need to be summoned from the S/T Zone to trigger. Paleozoics don’t do that. They have no function with this new Link whatsoever.
Well my bad, it’s been 5000 years since I read a paleo, so I remember them summoning from the S/T zone.
“Just stop printing purple cards”
I’ve been hearing this for over 12 years but the printing of purple cards will continue and you will wait a turn. Miniaturize my beloved! Free summon limit.
moron #2 for being illiterate
Honestly this is looking to be a neat tech with decks along with Silhouhatte that don’t mind running a copy to end on. Also Top Hat can set some of the other better Trap monsters like Apophis the Swap Deity and Azurune, so I’m a fan to what more this card will be able to do.
So pair it with any deck that uses Trap Monsters, like an Uria deck, or a trap-heavy Centur-Ion Deck.
Personally, I’ll be adding both to my Spellcaster/Illusion deck, as I already make use of Dwimmered Glimmer for an instant Spellcaster
Can the trap be activated the turn it was set?
No
unless you got a cheat effects for example temple of the king it’s not possible
“You can Set 1 Continuous Trap directly from your Deck”, oh no…oh no…oh nononono. Why would you make a card like this?! Ban every continuous trap flood gate! All of them! We cannot let this thing…wait… “that has an effect that Special Summons itself as a monster”, oh thank Ra… Crisis Averted
Wait until you hear about Pharaonic advent.
@Kalethegod Pharonic Advent isn’t a generic extra deck monster, requires a specific tribute, poorly searchable and locks you. Not exactly scary.
The Link would’ve gained points if it included Traps with any effect that Special Summons, to make things like Call of the Haunted, Escape from the Dark Dimension and Macro Cosmos searchable. But it’s still not bad.
yes make a floodgate searchable great design
One of the weakest floodgates right now, not all of them are on the same level. Dark Law is a one-sided version of it, on legs and with an extra really good effect, very accessible even on turn 1 for lots of meta decks, and never hit on the banlist in the TCG. People complain about Graveyard abuse, yet refuse to have an accessible balanced counter to it.
“very accessible even on turn 1 for lots of meta decks” name them for decks that aren’t HERO
Mask Change II allows you to summon it with the only requirement of controlling any low Level DARK monster.
i said name the decks currently running dark law not name the card i know enables it, yugioh can’t read
players*
I said Dark Law is easily accessible by lots of meta decks, the fact the current ones don’t run it just further proves my point that its effect, shared by Macro Cosmos in a weaker form, is now considered weak. Players can’t understand.
Trash
blasphemy!
I like that you can make this with any effect monsters so you can Link summon a new one each turn to set a new trap.
The trap monster being level means that the broken Illusion Rank4 that just came out can be made with full power off of this. Nice.
One slight problem with that: When the Trap is used as Xyz Material, it’s no longer a monster, thus it won’t be seen as an Illusion monster as Material.
Lol Tistina can now directly set their Trap Monster.
I expected Three as One today, but Konami really went all out and just revealed the final Link and Trap in the set.
First Illusion Link in the game and as expected somewhat underwhelming, though it may see some brief experimentation in Snake-Eyes or Centur-Ion.
All we have left are 3 generic Effect monsters and 3 non-archetypal Spells.
What in the world were you expecting in the first place? Like, how is an easily accessible Trap Monster searcher “underwhelming”, and why were you “expecting” it to be so?
Like, this is really good for what it does. It’s amazing, even, single-handedly giving Trap Monster Decks something they’ve really needed.
Because it is underwhelming. Trap monsters are almost always terrible, and I expected this to be awful like the other non-archetypal Extra Deck monsters revealed at the tail end of a set’s promotion.
yugioh players expect every card printed to go in current deck, otherwise it is unplayable trash.
A wdjat hat by itself wouldn’t be that out of place aesthetically in a Rishid deck. Well that explains the 2 trap monster reprints finally! Hopefully reptile trap monster support some day…
Wasn’t his ace monster a Fairy type based on the Egyptian scorpion god?
ELDLICH SUPPORT FINALLY!
this is the support we should have gotten instead of el durado ademantado
Interesting Link) can be very good in future. Right now you can at minimum set from the deck something like Angel Statue Azurune (it can negate a special summon). Set a solem trap – not bad already. Good potential in some future illusion or trap archetypes. Also can be decent with quick link summoning.
THIS! People complaining about it being “meh” in as a tech while I’m sitting here GIDDY A.F. ’cause my actual Trap Monster deck has 6 more disruptions and A CONSISTANT SEARCH!!!
Exactly! This card is awesome and a long-awaited, welcome addition to Trap Monster Decks.
This is at least interesting and opens quite a bit of possibilities + obviously will get better with every new trap monster.
Right now I can see it being played as a small engine of Hare + 1-2 Trap Monsters OR in dedicated Trap Monster deck, which are nothing more rn but a casual thing but who knows, maybe in next set we will get broken Trap Monster archetype and Hare will end being staple searcher for it – after all few decks that currently Konami is pushing for puts monsters in S/T Zone so why not flipping it around and putting stuff from S/T to Monster Zone?
they go illusion because they have eye in their hat HAHAHAHA so funny.
Hop this because a arctypes.
