AFTER TEN THOUSAND YEARS MST NEGATES!
And more importantly, we have a draw spell for Quick Plays
could be cool in like a bad Purrely build
WOOO! MST NEGATES BABY
But how many negates turn 1? Single-digit? Double-digit? Konami should just post the number on top to save time.
Why is the headlining image ghetto twitter?
Because that’s where the funny people are
You mean non-nazi twitter.
That’s what you took from this? Man, what an f’ing loser 🤣.
>Twitter
>Funny people
Chuckle
non-nazi twitter is called X
The Megala Art will be Rich and Plentiful
Runick support. This archetype’s very good. Too good, I’d say… Oh well, seems fun ‘tleast
No Extra Deck (so far). Only Quick-Play Spells and reliance on MST.
It’s a cute gimmick but not sure if it is strong in the current meta.
Play it with runick and it’ll be, most likely
bunch of level winds so you can make totem bird and keep the theme of wind negating backrow
It has potentialTM. Doubt the first wave will make any impact on the meta though.
Mst getting an Archtype based around it was not what I expecting. Now I’m hoping we get a Archtype based on the mirror force cards like traptrixs are with trap hole.
I could see it if they want to also do fang of critias support
Terminal World should get an archetype because of main phase 2 war crimes.
Arkadia why does the image link for megala say “mesugaki”
She does look like one
why do they feel the need to create these weird and ugly designs? and why childish girls when they could be attractive women?
For the same reason you feel the need to fap to the art of the card, because they eant to.
shut up you dirty
These card designs are not ugly, they are just flamboyant. But what I find “weird” here is you implying YuGiOh should make their designs more boring, and are somehow implying all these cards are girls, when only half of them are. Also only one of them could be augured as childish in appearance. Regardless, no point in asking Konami to make their female cards “more thick,” because by the time the TCG gets done with any card they will be flat. Hahaa~
No point. Even when they do something cool or hot it gets censored in the tcg because of a) “religious symbolism” or b) tits
Why do you feel the need to be a gooner?
Why do they need to be attractive women? Why do you focus on the appearance of the cards so much???
Who doesn’t care? Design is very important, if you play with something that doesn’t represent you, if you win, you won’t be yourself… and I’m sure no one here likes such ugly viuals, in the case of Yu-Gi-Oh, where the effects, rules and gameplay have not been interesting for a long time, at least give me my 4K and convince me with a game that is pleasing to the eyes? And as for the flamboyant visuals, the details are amazing, but look at this weird composition, it’s visual pollution.
“If you win, you won’t be yourself”? Bait used to be believable. You can do better than that.
bro sees woman and immediately expects conventional attractiveness instead of delving into the artistic style, expression, and story of the art, for example, megala’s childish form and elemental physicality follows the trope of childish and/or individuals in positions of power, in this case being a high-power thunder fairy who, as suggested by their childish demeanor, uses their powers for their own entertainment, separating herself from the brave erdam and the solemn suen (crothea doesnt show much personality in terms of facial expression or posing, as most of her silhouette is covered and she has a neutral-smug expression)
theres litterally only one card in the archtype that looks childlike…2 of them are male,2 are woman and the boss is a giant bird…..
and i dont get where your getting at them bein ugly? these are actually among the more vabrant a majestic themes weve seen…not like the cutesy loli crap that we see in a few other archtypes.
honestly these cards give me “Fire kings, but WIND monsters” vibes. when it comes to the artwork.
why do you need to fap to it
Of all the things I ever expected to get, an archetype based on MST was never one of my guesses. At last it can Negate!!
These things are prime XYZ Material too. Totem Bird and Rank 6/9 will be happy to have them. If only other such archetypes had more in-house Quick-Plays… yeah Generaiders have Rick’s that are tied to them, but that’s Runick and not Generaider.
To be honest, with how iconic but power-crept MST is, this was to be expected sooner or later.
Personally I just thought they’d make more of those weather-based destruction cards ala Cosmic Cyclone and Twin Twisters. For what it’s worth one of the latest was Double Dust Tornado Twins, which is just really odd because it doesn’t really line up with the rest.
terrortop powercreep
Unironically, yeah.
If you play the search spell all of all the pieces would search each other with no garnets.
I really hope that’s not the name, because it is exhausting to say.
The Japanese is “Dazzling”/”Magnificent”/”Brilliant” + “Storm”
The TCG is probably going to emphasize the MST connection even more.
I can see where it’s coming from now that you say the meaning of the OCG name, but I’m tempted to say Magnifistorming honestly feels a little unwieldy; while it’s trying the same thing as Majespecter, as portmanteaus go, there’s something about it that trips itself up along the way that I can’t quite articulate well — if I had to put a word to the feel of it, I’d say it’s overstuffed, especially when part of the names that aren’t just [archetype] [individual name] like with the latter two monsters or the backrow.
I’d almost say the direction ‘Voiceless Voice’ went might be more the route; sure, it’s a bit less elegant than some form of wordplay, but I can’t help but feel like something like ‘Mystical Storm’ (or similar, and here I have to quietly curse 5D’s for having a monopoly on “Majestic” as a single word, and while I’ve seen things like ‘Shining Storm’ or ‘Splendid Storm’ that look nice I’m with you on the ‘probably going to emphasize the MST connection more’) would read better, whether on its own (e.g., ‘Mystical Storm Megala’) or handled even more like Voiceless Voice (e.g., ‘Megala of the Mystic Storm’).
That’s just my two cents (well, more dollars by now) on the matter, though — an amateur’s opinion.
perhaps “Majestorm” will be its finalized english name.
I’m already thinking that E-tele + Ghost Ogre would be a main for this deck
Mystic-Nah, that’s too verbose, I’m just calling it cyclone. Cyclone used to be a power card that rewarded the player with better timing. As opposed to say, night beam, which never required any thought.
I’m gonna be extremely disappointed if the initials of the official TCG name don’t spell out “MST”
Is this another Runick support?
Sure? I dislike the lens of singular themes having monopolies over basic game mechanics, labrynth, monarch, aromage, etc. Runick is coveting 2 now that I think about it eww brotha eww.
Can the TCG please rename MST to cyclone already.
Mst speedroid is gonna be op
They’re making achetypes based off 25 year old spell cards now. And I’m here for it. Give us a Snatch Steal archetype next!
We already got snatch steal archetype at home mommy, is Mikanko !!
Thats a cool archetype but man why does every new archetype have to be an anime character regardless of typing? I mean look at the bird that one looks so insane we couldve had more of that
Japanese game.
Japanese popculture aesthetics.
Go play MTG and their 100% American ogreface women.
Because this isn’t a birds archetype, its a WIND archetype, and if you haven’t noticed, most of the cards look like deities or avatars of some power(the magnificent Mystical Space Typhoon most likely), the only Bird isn’t even the Winged Beast, its the Pyro, in Phoenix
because it’s from japanese
Gotta say, MST archetype was not on my 2025 bingo card o..o
What are their names based on?
We think they might be Hindi inspired but if they are, Konami muddled the names. The aesthetics are definitely Hindu/India as a Cyclone refers to a storm in the Indian Ocean.
Protip: The backrow, specifically the spells don’t specify that they need to be set and destroyed with MST to activate their reset effect. So if you’ve got a copy in hand, you’re entirely capable of activating the card, chaining MST to pop it, getting both it’s initial effect, and its reset, then activating it again to get the second one off of whichever you didn’t use.
Ooh, good point! Thanks!
You can’t activate quick-play spells the turn they are set, but yes you can activate it again on your opponent’s turn.
While you can reset the card while popping it during its chain of activation, you can’t actually activate it immediately due to them being quick plays. That being said you can just use them on the opponent’s turn since they’re quick plays.
Time to save some cards like “Quick Booster”, “Runick Allure” and “Condemned Maiden” I guess.
I wonder if komonkey OCG japan is actually reading our comments. 🗿
If they so why they never listen to us complaining about their game. Ban OSS in MD and also stop creating broken card like deadnator!!!
Why would they this isn’t an official Konami site?
@chained: why would they read you, pedo
Konami turned MST into Soul Charge. Bravo.
Time to side Invader of Darkness
After 10,000 years MST can negate stuff
what’s the lore? how are these wind multi-types related to a space typhoon?
They actually made the meme a reality. Definitely an interesting set of support for MST of all things. That wind lock though, but only for the rest of turn, so you can play around it.
The design is fire! Sorry, Wind!
Magnifistorming Sight Trance is niche in dark world decks
SIGHT TRANCE IS INSANE!!! (Last quickplay spell)
It will go in any deck that wanta to discard hand, its like allhre darkness but for discards this is INSANE generic support holy shadow realm!!!
Very interesting indeed.
Honestly not too strong way I see it, though I imagine we’re missing a field spell that says “you can activate “Mystical Space Typhoon” or “Maginistorming” Cards from your hand during your opponent’s turn while this card is face-up” or most likely “You can activate Quick-Play Spells the turn they are Set while this card is face-up in the Field Zone.” otherwise I see this deck running out of resources pretty fast and not doing much in the grand scheme of things.
going off the lore….are we to assume that Phoenix is creature responsible for creating the storm we call “mystical space typhoon?”
perhaps this creature was also responsible for heavy storm
The trap isn’t even once per turn. It’s just once per chain. The only problem I see here is that you need a target for MST to be activated.
I suggest the articles become politically agnostic to avoid flame wars
