Why all the focus on 0 ATK
RD/MRP2-JP013 Saikyo Kijuu Bolt Tricorn (Ultimate Flag Beast Bolt Tricorn)
Level 3 LIGHT Machine Effect Monster
ATK 1200
DEF 200
[REQUIREMENT] If you control no other monsters, send the top card of the Deck to the GY.
[EFFECT] Choose 1 face-down Spell/Trap your opponent controls. That card cannot be activated until your opponent’s next turn ends.
RD/MRP2-JP031 Tenui Draco (Draco the Hand-Sewn)
Level 1 WIND Dragon Effect Monster
ATK 0
DEF 1400
[REQUIREMENT] If you have 10 or more cards in your Deck, activate this turn the turn this card was Normal Summoned.
[EFFECT] Choose 1 Level 1 monster with 1400 DEF in your GY and Special Summon it to your field in face-down Defense Position, also, if you chose a Normal Monster with this effect, then, draw 1 card.
Note: This is likely a reference to the Draco the Tiny plushie that Romin hugged during the episode in which Luke dueled himself to decide which Luke will continue to exist.

Ok, comment on these two cards:
– I’m glad that “Ultimate Flag” hasn’t been abandoned and, because Yuga uses the Boss Monster in the Anime, it gets support from time to time. The bad thing is that this support is generic, but it seems that it will be abused in Cyber Dragon due to the Effect of not being able to activate Trap Cards to defend yourself.
– Continuing Luke’s streak of Retrains focused on his old Monsters, we now have “Draco the Tiny”. Honestly, I don’t see what use the card would have, despite it being generic. It seems to be those cards that have future potential when there are more targets for its Effect.
Bolt Tricorn being generic but also being supported by the LIGHT Machine engine on the side is precisely why it is so good. Requires minimal set up just to disable 1 of your opponent’s battle, destruction, or activate on summon Traps for two turns, or more situationally a valuable Spell that they set from their hand during their prior turn.
Draco works with Straynge Cat and the new Magician, both being a 0 ATK monster to send to the GY for Magician’s draw & summoning the monster you do send to the GY with Magician’s draw while potentially getting another draw. Every Level 1 monster with 1400 DEF in the game thus far also has 0 ATK, and almost all of these are vanillas so you can generate hand and field advantage simultaneously. I have no doubt this card was designed to facilitate Magician.
