The first Main Deck non-Maximum Level 10 monster in the game, right?
Yes, it is the first Level 10 Effect Monster that is original for Rush Duels. However, the Monster in question is a Retrain of a Maximum Monster that belongs to the same Deck.
The fun thing is that it is still a Monster with 2500 ATK, but this Fiend comes with the extra protection of Level 10.
Here’s the Blaze Fiend we saw on the packaging. As expected, he is based on the center piece of the Level 4 Overlord triad and is designed around Lucifer before he forms the triad, or after he breaks away from the triad after obtaining more power.
Luciless’s relatively easy Tribute Summon requirement can be fulfilled with Guide, Serpent, or Resurrection, or to just Normal Summon 1 of the Level 4 Overlord Maximums. Royal Rebel’s Guardian with its effect can also be used to Tribute Summon him, and he is recoverable with Rocker as a high Leveled Fiend, and Elite Amp as he shares the Maximums’ 0 DEF.
Luciless’s requirement is also easy enough to meet. You will have already Tributed at least 1 Fiend to bring him out, will use Cobolt/Greed/Gift/Charity to send Fiends from your hand to the GY for your combos, or worst case scenario, have 3 Maximum pieces in the GY already. Luciless combines well with Phaser, who can Special Summon a Despairacion piece from the GY with Luciless out and if need be send itself to the GY to meet Luciless’s requirement, and Echo, letting you reuse the Phaser you just sent to the GY to Special Summon another Despairacion piece. Both of which immediately work with Return to add those 2 pieces back to the hand, and Luciless to hopefully add back the third. Luciless can then be Tributed for Rocker to add a third piece. The best part is that Luciless’s effect is a soft OPT and not tied to being Normal Summoned, so if you find some way to recover him from the GY, he can recover multiple Maximums per turn by himself. Again, Phaser is the best option for this.
Luciless also boosts Royal Rebel’s theme as he is a Level 10 or higher Fiend that can easily be summoned, recovered, and Tributed for their bosses.
