Based on set numbers, this appears to be the last new monster for the Dark Magician series in this pack. (No new DARK Spellcaster with 2000 ATK unfortunately).
This card was obviously designed to work with several new cards in here – Jewel, Resolve, 7 Shift, and High Magic – Double Accel, to name a few. Can easily be sent to the GY with Ship of Seven Treasures, Graceful Charity, and Mature Dark Magician to facilitate your plays.
This monster feels like an easier to use Ecdysis Caesarleon – has a higher starting ATK value at 2500 and is supported by more cards (due to its favorable ATK, Level, Type, and Attribute), but is only boosted by Spell cards in your GY.
Going forward, the Dark Magician series will probably feature several retrains of Dark Magician with continuous effects rather than generic ones to compensate for how relatively easy they are to summon and how many cards both within and outside their theme that support them. Once Darkness Galactica Oblivion gets printed, it may see more mileage when used against these monsters specifically.
Curious as to the first nine cards in this pack – we still don’t know anything about them so anything could go.
